Pakistan embroidery
« on: August 02, 2011, 10:40:40 AM »
Here is the sample of what you get when you order from Pakistan.
The small image is a picture of a shorts done in Pakistan that was missing a word "Team" under the word "Wrestling".

One of mine customers just received the order in the mail (100 pieces with embroidery on 3 places, about 80000 stitches on the shorts custom made for him) with the word missing. Now, my task is to fix them by weekend (they have a wrestling meet).

They are a bitch to line up to the other text.

it's hard to see, but overall, how is the quality of the overseas embroidery?

Kinda crappy to dump that on you, I hope you are making good money on it.

Embroidery in not that bad, but the backs are terrible. All the backing is still there, thread is not trimmed, shorts have a bunch of oil all over them.....mess.
I make enough money, I'm small shop, would take almost anything just to build a customer base and keep making money for more equipment.
My short term goal is to get 3 single heads (anything bigger will not fit in my basement :( ).

Plus, he ordered 100 hats from me few weeks ago, I want to keep him happy :), and he is the one interested in shoe embroidery.

BTW, I found out that these shorts were pair $9 per shorts, DELIVERED!!!!!
That is a custom shorts, with a custom belt tag, custom label, custom paper tag and embroidery on three places (all together at least 80 000 stitches).

All of that for $9

DAMN, how we can compete with something like that??????

Never the less though Homer that is still cheap as hell, and you know people are looking for cheap...every now and then I'll have someone bring stuff from other shops that refuse to fix them, and want me to do on the cheap.  I use to take the job hoping they would come back Hmmmm, now I tell them some kind of story and fellow that with sorry I wished I could have helped you out (thinking to myself, you got what you paid for suckerrrrrs) ;D
Life is like Kool-Aid, gotta add sugar/hardwork to make it sweet!!

My boss had me try a couple of Pakistani designs. One came back with block
lettering instead of serif as the artwork sent. The other took me longer to fix than
if I did it myself. I kind of knew what I would be getting when e-mails with the
digitizer was in engrish (see www.engrish.com)
