DO YOU KNOW THIS DRYER?
« on: May 02, 2017, 04:55:29 PM »
We have this dryer (not using) but they say it runs great!  Owner may be interested in selling it.
I was asked to see if someone can identify it and determine an estimated value.

All Electric.
Dimensions are: 4' 6" infeed. 2' outfeed.    4' wide belt x 11'    (full dimensions are 11' x 5' wide, 4'2" tall).

It's older and has no brand label on it anymore. It may be for sale, but not confirmed. Just trying to know what we have for now.

Thanks!

looks like an American dryer based off the colors.

But could also be a national or hix.

I don't think that it's an American, since my old Phoenix has much taller rails and does not have a sloped hood. Dan's dryer also seems to have its controls hanging off of the side, not like my American at all.
That rug really tied the room together, did it not?

We have a Hix dryer that looks very similar. The way the belt rollers attach is identical, as are the circle cutouts on the side panels. If I was a betting guy I would put my money on Hix with 85% certainty. But I can't say 100%.

Looks like a National, but I thought all national's where gray, if you open it up you might can fine some info  in the electric panel serial # or something

That dryer is extremely similar to my old National.  The control panel is different, but everything else looks the same.  The angles, belt mounts, leg attachments.

same as my old national too, I ended up taking it to the junk yard. you might get 1k for it if it runs.

I would bet Hix, however it has some part that I have never seen on a National or a Hix (and I have seen a lot of both).

I think His or National too, not worth more than 1K, probably more like $500...
