Affect of temp on emulsion when coating
« on: July 28, 2017, 03:30:42 PM »
I have had some problems with banding, streaks across the screen when coating lately
Not sure what is causing this, could be viscosity of emulsion.
I keep the emulsion in the screen drying room which is 75F
Our print area at the moment is in the 90s.
How much does the temperature affect the viscosity of the emulsion?
Maybe I should store it at a higher temp?
We are using Saati PHU.

Try using direct prep 2 as your final treatment, I think your problem will be a thing of the past.

We've been using direct prep for years, when you rinse it, you should see the water cascading down the screen in sheets, sort of. If you are rinsing after degreasing, check how the water flows over the mesh... direct prep will make that go away.
