How do I make a font tilt forward?
« on: November 09, 2017, 07:30:50 AM »
Using coreldraw X5

How do I make a font tilt forward or away with a one point perspective?...I have a logo I made but I want it to tilt forward to appear bigger at top and smaller at the bottom to appear to come from one starting point on the horizon.

The perspective tool won't give me what I want because it stretches the text at the top..I need the text to remain the same thickness but tilted.

Convert to curves
use the "envelope" tool,
delete the middle nodes on each side and top and bottom
select the 4 corner nodes and "convert to line"
Take the top two nodes and slide them to the right. if you use the nudge buttons you need to click on one of the nodes after to make the text snap to the envelope.

Where is the "Convert to Line"? I select my for corners and right click and I see a "to Line"....i chose that...i slide the top nodes to right and its looks like its tying into a knot hahaha

im doing something wrong for sure.

"convert to line" means the line between the nodes isn't a curve, it's a straight line.

My mistake...i was meaning tilting forward like its coming at you...like a 3-D perspective.

a 2-d perspective i guess it could be?...the text would be tapered...smaller at the bottom...wider at the top.

I don't use Corel, but when Inkworks wrote "slide the top 2 nodes to the right" that's close, move the right one to the right and the left one to the left (equal amounts for each) and I think that will give you what your looking for... bigger at the top, and centered.

But, I wonder what mark means when he says that he didn't like the way the Perspective tool "stretched" the text.
This method is also stretching it. It kinda' comes with the territory.
With clients, when I can't understand their written explanation, I ask for a simple sketch sent as a phone pic.
That rug really tied the room together, did it not?

Something like this with Extrude ?
