Lost cost separation software and RIP.... suggestion

Northland:
... for your consideration (if you are lacking in art skills). I'm a low volume, single person shop that markets to the 1-3 color customer. I've been intending to purchase some art software that would help minimize my pre-press time, dealing with customer supplied art. I get a fair amount of crappy jpeg, hand-drawn and bitmap stuff that I convert to vector and assign spot colors.

Today, I stumbled across an offering that consider a great value. Being a Coreldraw user (with minimal photoshop skills) I'm attracted to plug-ins that automate functions in Corel. I had decided earlier that I would spend some money (year-end) on SimpleSeps 4.0, but was delighted to find that there is currently "holiday pricing" which is basically 50% off. In this my $133 vs $265. The product is a plug-in for use with Corel X6 & newer.

I apologize, if this appears to be a sales-pitch... it is not. It is intended to be an FYI for those shops (like mine) that don't have full-time art skills readily available. I will not link to the product..... if you are interested you can do your own search for SimpleSeps 4.0

I have not used the product, but here are the features that I hope will benefit my shop:
- automated color separation ( 3 methods)
- automated trap/choke/gutter/spread
- integrated RIP
- interlocking halftone features
- online tutorial assistance

I have been using Simple Seps for years now, love the automation of it.

Holiday pricing shows up after the product is in the "cart".

You might want to check out Hi-Fi Ink, a Photoshop set of actions that is blazingly fast, and goes I think for $149.00.   https://www.facebook.com/search/top/?q=hi-fi%20ink
