Comfort Colors Discharge Rating Chart
« on: September 26, 2018, 12:12:12 PM »
Does anyone know where I can find the discharge rating chart for Comfort Colors tees? Specifically the C1717's.

I have discharged the black tees and they work great, but I'm not sure about the other colors. Specifically the orange shirts.

If they are the reactive's they discharge with mixed results depending on where they were dyed. overall the orange reactive's discharge decent. now the Pigments DO NOT discharge well.

Correct on that...……..the pig dyes will not work. They bleed like crazy. Often need a bleed blocker base then white base before top colors can be applied.

Alpha Broder has a good selection of the reactive dye Comfort Colors. Also San Mar also has that PC099 FAMILY dye collection and they say 85% of the colors are reactive and discharge great. I have not personally printed any.. Maybe TP would sample and test the whole darn line and post the results.? :))

Thanks for the help here guys!

I've attached the shirt we would be printing, using a white/black/ and blue design. Not terribly worried about the black and white colors, but trying to discharge a blue on an orange shirt makes me nervous  about the outcome.

I would order a couple samples and do a quick test. Possibly even set it up for a customer approval.

Thanks Rick, I may just have to test these out. May just do a discharge base for the area of the design that is blue and see how that prints.

one tip. With comfort colors beware of the tag color. If the tag color is dyed usually there will be a problem with that size. They make different sizes in different plants sometimes and different spreads of the fabric depending on the patterns being used at that time. I have had everything discharge exept say the small. then notice that size was made in haiti and all the others in honduras.

Interesting to know, I have noticed the tags on them being dyed when we get them. I'll have to keep an eye on that since printing on this brand is new to me.

is anyone here consistently printing discharge on comfort colors these days? The past few times I have done a few small runs of Ts  they have discharged great and hold up longer than what I normally use for my webstore (gildan hammer)
