I haven't hit the upper time limits yet.

We store them vertically in envelopes hanging on clothes hangers.

Question: Has anyone using transfers that utilize adhesive powder on regular plastisol had transfers FAIL....due to length of storage time being exceeded??

If not, how long have you stored them that worked properly.

Sorry for the dearth of posts during the last almost 2 years.  :-[

I've always stored in zip-lock bags, which probably offered a little more protection from the atmosphere, but had success with ten year olds.
Some folks are paying major mucho dinero for vintage transfers on ebay, We're talking 1980's. So, they must figure they will be fine as well.

Obviously, you are in a position to test, and not only check adhesion with a laundering, but can also adjust time, heat, or pressure as needed.

The only trouble I have had with "old" transfers have been the Puff ones..... I'm talking 4-5 years old and they don't have the puff they once had. How you doing Stan?

I am doing GREAT Larry. Thanks!

Ummmmm....except, I'm half the man I used to be, wink wink.  I've lost 166.5 and that's just exactly what I weighed this morning. I started @ 333.

I can work long hours now with out pain in my hips and shoulders.

But you don't use powder much as I recall. Mostly Hot-Split Plastisol. I was under the impression that Hot-Split inks don't store as well.

Is that correct? Or are you talking Hot-split transfers lasting 5 or so years....

I have some of both, hot and cold, that are at least 15 years old and still work OK. No I do not use the powder. That is a LOT of weight to lose so I hope it was intentional. If so... congratulations!

Just saw this and got your voicemail, which I assume was about this. We just store them stacked, vertically in hanging file folders or in thin boxes. I have pressed transfers I printed 6 or so years ago without issue. They have been stored in probably 5 different locations with different conditions in each, no special considerations, no issues. I have pressed a few transfers like frog described as well, 70s or 80s prints from ebay. They didn't work well, but they worked.
