Nazdar customer service?
« on: October 30, 2018, 05:47:08 PM »
Hi all!

I ordered a Rio starter kit a couple of years ago from Nazdar and am ready to get the maxi kit.  I haven't ordered from them since, as there are several place within an hour that I get stuff from.   Got prices from several vendors and though what the heck, call Nazdar and see if they can match prices and start ordering from them as they have all the lines I shop.

Called and spoke with a rep for along time, discussed my needs, asked for suggestions, he said he'd get back to me....that was almost 3 weeks ago.  I have since emailed 3 - 4 times and left voice mails.

Is this typical, or should I ask for another rep?  or run away?

Thanks!

Curiosity: Why are you switching from the Rio to the MX system?

And no... that should not be be the norm.  All reps should take care of you (I have strong personal opinions on this).  I can see being busy for 1 or 2 days certainly (this happens a lot...) and general questions that are not immediate can get pushed aside.  But not for a week or more and not on something as easy as getting you a quote on a mixing system.  To me that's unacceptable.

Its your call if you want to try them again, with a different rep.

Hi Colin,

Not switching to the MX, staying with the Rio and getting the Rio Maxi Kit; gallon size of each color and a 5ver of mixing white.   The Rio is easy to print and has a good opacity.  I did 200 on Saturday on the manual using Union bright cotton white underbase through a 200, and then rio purple and teal top colors through 230 wet on wet, one stroke each - easy, once I made sure and raised the off contact to just over 1/8".  As soon as I'm out of bright cotton white I'll get the Wilflex Epic Single LC and stay that route....or if I can sell off the rest of my union/ic inks first :-)

I'll give Nazdar another day and then I'll order elsewhere.  It's a shame as they have all the stuff I buy from many sources under one roof......oh well.

Thanks for the reply!

Darren

Nazdar has great techs and lots of knowledgeable people, but I've had similar experiences here and there as well. I've even had one of their guys tell me to contact a wholly different company to buy something they make/sell like them helping me directly was not allowed or a chore. My suggestion would be finding a local supplier if possible, but obviously that isn't always possible. I have been absolutely spoiled by having a good local supplier for most of my needs, though they unfortunately don't carry the wilflex stuff due to territorial bullshit.

Ah!  I haven't heard the Rio gallon kit referred to by the maxi name, just the MX system.  All good!

Lots of Distributors will carry a Rio Gallon kit, we carry it here and it should be the same price from everyone.

This definitely is not typical of Nazdar SourceOne Customer Service.  I'd suggest an email or a call to our fellow TSB member Rob Coleman who will certainly get you fixed up.

Peter, I will throw this out there. We just went thru the process and purchased a huge package of M/R equipment from another supplier. Not to mention the 15k in start up inks and supplies. I left 3 messages with the local Vegas sales guy with nazdar and to this day he has not called me back.

Rick:  Thanks for the heads-up on not being taken care of with your recent equipment and supply purchase.  I'm sorry to see that service levels, and customer attention appear to have fallen off.  Hopefully Rob Coleman will see these posts and take the required action to get things turned around.

I will say that Marilee from Midwest Supply and Nicole Morrison from M/R were the best to deal with. Nicole's Product knowledge and Professionalism is second to none out there. These Ladies worked together on the Equipment side and we got it done. Service like that is why Midwest Supply is now our go to choice of supplier in the Las Vegas area.

My observation across suppliers is that it's more who your rep is than the company as a whole. My Nazdar rep is super.
For example, some folks really like Alpha and Sanmar which I can't get the time of day from, while Atlantic Coast Cotton, Carolina Made and TSF reps are really good for me.

Interesting, as in the "old days" it was all about the personal contact with both a rep and the folks at the counter.
We were offered help and advice and got to expect it, often tailored for our own individual operations.
Then came the demand for totally autonomous sites and their online ordering.
I might have said that we have gone full circle, but it rather looks like we are ending up with a "hybrid model".
That rug really tied the room together, did it not?

Good late evening all. I have not been on the boards or any social media very often in recent times, so my apologies for not seeing this earlier. Thanks Peter for the shout out.

Brazos and Rick:  I direct messaged both of you. Interested in speaking live to you both. We strive to take great care of our customers, so I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to speak with you off line.

Best, Rob

I just had a Real good conversation with Rob in regards to our situation. As it turned out I did have a wrong cell number for the rep I was contacting so the fact that no one from Nazdar called back was my fault. Rob acknowledged they are working on improving the ordering experience and customer service is most important. He is a extremely smart industry veteran and a wealth of information and better yet answered his cell phone on ring 2.

Was reading this thread last week for some reason, so I'm Sorry to resurrect an old one but here's my experience for the day, hope it gives someone a chuckle.

me: Hey there, looking for itemXXXX I ordered last time (order# is the email im replying to), but it's not on the website. I'd like to order x4.
nazdar: they have corrected the problem. would you like to order online, or would you like me to place the order?

*checks Nazdar website*

me: I can order online, but I still can't find it. Can you send me a link?
nazdar: Yes, it is itemXXXX
me: I know the item number... I'm having trouble finding it on the website. Can you send me the link?
nazdar: I could not find on website. How many would you like?

Just kill me now FFS
