Adding a monitor to my iMac?
whitewater:
Im looking to add another monitor to my iMac.. I know im pretty late to the party..LOL
Any recommendations? the thunderbolt is way overpriced... Looking for a 27" and what do I need for the connections?
ive looked it up a little but its a little confusing/
thanks

ixpoz:
What year and model iMac do you have? Once we have that information, we can determine which version of thunderbolt you have.
Admiral:
Go with an IPS display - more color accurate than other display types. HDMI cable with an adapter.
Once you know the version of Thunderbolt, you just need an adapter like:
https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Mini-DisplayPort-Thunderbolt-Adapter/dp/B00NH13K8S
But make sure it's the correct version first.
Sbrem:
Apple menu, About this Mac, System Report, click on Thunderbolt in the left column...
