8 color left breast print on a 8 color press
« on: September 11, 2019, 08:40:27 PM »
3600 tees all violet purple-8 color left breast print on a 8 color automatic. No cool down station. Never done this without having at least one empty head for letting the garments cool down a little. What options do we have to make this happen? Index real slow with a real fast flash time? Print in multiprint down mode with 2 print strokes and have slow index speed and then watch paint dry in the meantime? Use a low cure white for the underbase? Did I miss any other option?

You might try setting a fan up between some of the boards.

Yep looks like a slow few days, but a fan will work as we've had to do that a few times, is there any chance of using a DC white for your base?

We do this a lot. We have a 8/12 ROQ with 2 flashes. We have one job that runs 20K a month that is 8c sim process. We have it down now, but it took awhile to get everything dialed in. We put colors with least amount of coverage next to flash. Getting the base on the right mesh with right coating was the key for us. Sometimes we put a fan after the second flash. We run 500 - 550 shirts per hour and net bout 3000 per shift.

It is now as garment color changed from purple to navy. This will make things a lot easier.

I've had a few jobs like this where best results required revolving after the flash. Yes, it makes the job take twice as long on press, but occasionally it's the only way to keep the print under control. But before settling for that, I might try low cure base+ slow index + fans. Still might be faster than revolver.
Nice guys laugh last.
