Neon D/C Ink
« on: October 30, 2020, 11:10:07 AM »
I thought I read somewhere that neon inks have a shelf life before they don't work as well. We did some CCI Neon Orange activated at 5% and it looks like they're fading in the wash. We got the sample kit like 1-2 years ago and finally started using it, not sure if that's the issue. Any insight would be helpful.

You need to add fixer to it. We use their neons all the time but must add fixer

Thanks Brandon! Think Matsui Fixer WF-N would do the job? Got some floating around here.

Hey yes but that has a shelf life as well. If you think it is too old it probably is.

Damn, shelf life is a killer. Thanks again Brandon! You're on the list for shop tees for life.

All of the above for sure.  Also, try Sericol Texcharge for DC flo inks.  We don't add fixative to that product and it washes well.   Don't know if they have (or if we've used) an orange though.

Didn't Alex at TCT have a big recall with CCI flo orange years ago?  Maybe I got that mixed up but it came to mind when I saw this.
