100% poly Tees & Jerseys....uuuggghhh!
« on: March 27, 2012, 08:31:35 PM »
Anyone have any tips for printing 100% ploy Tees & Jerseys on a heat press? My problem is the heat press "markings".
Not only does the press leave markings, but the shirt itself does. If the sleeve seams don't line up then the front seam marks the back of the jersey and visa versa.
If I have to use a pillow inside the jersey (so I can print name & # on the back, when there is a 3 button front) then the teflon that is on the pillow will wrinkle some and mark the jersey.

I printed some youth jerseys today that were just too small to "dress the press". So that option is out.

I have reduced the pressure to as low as I feel comfortable doing.

I have 7 teams of these things to do. I did 3 of the teams today and just about pulled my hair out. >:(

Thanks! Sherry

I don't get as much "marking" as I do with fleece, and even that I just accept, as, apparently, so do my clients, as I have never had a complaint.
Perhaps if these were hanging on a retail rack it would be different, but, as I said, the press marks are minimal, and I believe disappear after the first wash anyway.
That rug really tied the room together, did it not?

we have the same problem.  my cure.  I got in samples from augusta and figured out which ones didnt have crazy seems running all over the shirt.  Those are the only ones we display and sell in our show room.  It helps.

You could try misting them with water and sending them through a dryer if you have one or steaming them a bit.
