Nice work Dan. We are starting to play with the same thing to see if we can get away for 8&9 sim process. What was your LPI?

All in all this was a successful test. Dan can respond to the image specifics but the DC/UB enhances  the graduated tones nicely. Could have played with it a bit more (anyone remember doctoring up process inks with flourescents)? But we took away what we needed from it. So yes, better print/hand and two less screens

Okay. Guilty here. Have played with doctoring process with flo.

Were triple strength, or tone process inks used for this job?

Which colors were the higher mesh count?

Traditional WB (not HSA) sim pro, DC UB.  This has become our go to- best hand and washability I've seen, easy to print.  Process jobs seem to run like warm butter now.  Shame we can't use this exact approach on every garment we print.

Now I just need to figure out how to image at 85lpi like serj and I'll be truly happy.  55lpi here.  I feel like 85lpi would really make the difference on prints like these.  Despite the WB inks we still have a lot of visible dot which always bugs me.

Sorry for terrible pics as usual but the new smart phone seems to be an improvement at least.

You know what.... The image is very visually striking.  That makes it a perfect print in my book ;)

Slowly go up to 65 lpi and see if you like that...  then try a 75 lpi...  You may stop at 60 if it looks good to you...

That's what it's all about Colin!  I may not be personally satisfied (never will?) but client is stoked.

We've done a lot of 55 to 65 side by sides and didn't see a big enough improvement to totally justify it.  Going to revisit jumping to 85.

looks beautiful. One generally is not supposed to be close enough to see the dots, kind of a "can't see the forest for the trees" thing. That's a very nice looking print, be proud.

Zoo, looks great from where I sit!

that DC UB, is that solid or halftones? if halftones, how much of a learning curve as to when where and why to halftone the UB?
