3d thread?

I have a client that wants to get some hats embroidered with 3d thread. My current embroidery that i sub to only does 2.5" high. is that the standard height?

I try not to go over 2.25". 2.5' is possible, but I try to stay a bit smaller than that.

It is the actual foam that makes a 3D effect, not the thread.

Over 2.5 would require certain style hats and its very limited on the types that would even work at that point.  Some machines wouldn't work well for anything bigger than that.  We generally stay lower around 2-2.25.  Limitation of a hat basically.  Anything much larger is generally done when the hat is still flat.
