Have you asked and compared the European distributors and dealers?
Is this something best bought here and shipped?

Don't know about the shipping but when we purchased 3 years back we bought directly from stretch devices.
Their distribution may have changed since and a direct buy may no longer be possible but worth a communication with stretch devices i would think.
Also there are members here that at least represent if not distribute for  Stretch Devices and with a 100 pieces you should have some serious barganing power.
best of luck

Prices I got from closest European dealer was:

Quote:

The pricing are:
23x31'' M3 frame - $ 100.00
23x31 MZX frame - $ 70.00

not too stimulating.  Price for shipping USA-my Shop in EU is roughly 1000$.

The days of deals on new roller frames are gone. If you can get an M3 for or less than $69 assembled, that's a good deal.

Apparently, $69 each and the $10 shipping on each of 100 would save him a cool $2000 over his local price.
I have seen folks on Digitsmith (especially the Printex crowd) complain about M&R foreign(for us) prices being sky high.
They are a distributor of these frames in Poland, and I bet that on a quantity like this, they could be competitive with a little nudge.

There has to be a little give on these prices. I mean you could easily have 7-10 grand in screens and the stretcher table and mesh and only have an inventory of about 50 screens. It makes the new panel frames way more attractive if they would be more consistent on mesh quality and have consistent high 20 low 30 tension levels.

Frog this was pricing from Poland distributor.  Is it unethical to discuss prices on TSB? Hope not.
Updated price for 100 Pcs:   93$

M&R pricing in Europe. I can't speak for others, but my wish to own M&R  equipment was always put off with high Prices I have been offered.
I only have used Amscomatic Folder which works very good. Most small issues were solved through forum by great help of 244-Rich  and Tony from Trutech.
I once invited M&R technician to stop bye and check it when he is traveling through Maribor. He spent an hour with machine, did some greasing, recommended to stock a set of belts for future replacement.  And he set table waiting time to zero. A month later we were billed for 220€ (330$) for this visit.. Can't say if this included any travel costs, as invoice says only :  M&R technician visit for K-840
How do you find it?

Boris

you aren't missing anything by not using M&R.  There is nothing about their presses that others don't have.  Heck, even though most don't like him Barnes has done a good job showing the different companies that are in Europe.

Frankly, you are in MHM's backyard, you need to check them out.

Didn't get that you were overseas.. $93 ain't bad when you figure in transport and duty taxes for an american product in Europe.

There are literally thousands of newman rollers sitting in corners of shops all over the country right now not being used.  I know, I recently saw about 30 25x36 m3's at a shop that one of the printers thought they were for a graphics press!  I offered to take them off their hands for $25 per hoping to land a sweet deal and I thought for sure the guy would take the deal since he literally had no idea he could be using them, but he said he'd get back to me.  The best place to find a steal on these frames is craigslist.  You have to be patient, but then you have to move quickly on them so it's kind of hard to finalize, but those are usually the people who don't realize what exactly they have (I can say that because I was that dumbass a few years ago).  I hate it that Mr. Newman isn't making a killing from selling tons of new roller frames, but I can't see buying new ones when there are so many decent used one's still floating around.

Do they have Craigslist in Eastern Europe yet? Then again, our European friend could still possibly partner up with a "Yank" and take advantage.

Those foreign money orders have a bad reputation.

I bet that Boris is using TAS equipment. :)

Regarding Newman's I also have the same problem here in Serbia, just can't find a good deal anywhere in Europe. And I saw on Digitsmith or recent Print House auction for example, hundreds of these used in great condition at bargain prices. But, you must have someone in US ready to pick it up and arrange shipping.  You guys in USA are lucky regarding equipment prices. And not only equipment. I was Wilflex customer for several years, but now it becomes impossible to continue with their prices here. For example, if you guys in US are paying 65 USD for gallon of let's say HDC, price here is 210 USD!!

Btw Boris, what ink brands are you using?
