i guess it comes down to not understanding how the RIP is actually working.

Moral of the story... always make sure everything is converted to outlines. It just blows my mind that the raster data was changed from a vector font being present and not outlined.

You know how you tell your customers to create outlines around their fonts?  Do the same thing.

Object < Flatten Transparency < Click Convert All Text To Outlines < OK.

Tried it, but to do that i need to embed the DCS 2 file, which AI wont allow.

The typeface in the art file that was affected is a raster. The placement label was not converted to an outline.

I manually converted the font and dropped it in the rip. What do you know... its spelled correctly. THANKS!! What is going on here? I get the effect, but im not understanding the cause.

This one has me scratching my head and I need to get to the bottom of it before I lose my sh!t.

I have a channel sep saved as a DCS 2. Its linked to a separate AI file which has our CTS template and a vector L chest print. On both the EPS file and in the AI file, "Buffett" is spelled correctly. Now in the xitron rip, Buffett is spelled as "Buffet". So naturally thats on a bunch of shirts too.

What is this about. Anyone see this before? How do I prevent this from happening again, just not sure whats going on here at all. 1000% sure nobody here edited this.

Hoping this will be funnier next week.

Any ideas on whats going on here?

I think it's the display. I turned on and just from memory I traced a design (whatever one was up) and it traced. So it would seem everything works but just can not see anything.

Im taking apart and checking connections before I send out.

I've seen people cutting out blank ones from Hobby Lobby. Haven't tried it yet

Thanks guys,  should have said tajima..

Im taking the back off and check wires too. Talked to Pinpoint, if I need a new screen, send them control panel and $900 bucks.

If CPU board (but he said normally thats a white screen) $5-$6K or more..

All 3 of our old single heads have the CPU boards with intermittent issues, we replaced one of them for the upgraded unit for $7K a couple of years ago.  The other 2 work most of the time and come back often enough we are not going to spend $7K each on a machine worth 7K.

Your display is different than our full whitescreen though.  These are X-16 controllers that have failed us, on all 3 of our first embroidery machines.  We did not get good support from Hirsch/Tajima on a real fix unfortunately.  Refurb X-16s are about $2500 and probably going to fail again.  X-21 is the controller to update too but too expensive.

We just had a Velox installed yesterday and the very first test prints were very impressive. Using canvas for the second press completely changed the feel. We'll be doing some testing today with different percentages of white. We have several contract printers using other DTF companies that have already placed order with us. It's a bit to early to tell but I really feel this will be a great compliment to screen printing with a much higher margin.

You're looking for something with a little texture, and not too thick. I use pique, or the canvas from a cheap tote. It mostly gets rid of that smooth plastic feel by adding the texture of the cover "sheet". Upholsterers add various textures to vinyl similarly.
