Title: Comparison between Rutland SF2 LB White (9073) and Willflex Epic Bright Tiger
Post by: Maxie on April 14, 2019, 08:12:56 AM
Has anyone worked with both of these whites?
How do they compare.
The Bright Tiger costs 50% more from my suppliers, is it worth it?

We ran the ever living crap out of Bright Tiger back in the 90's.  And frankly that is where I place that ink...great for the 90's.  I tried it again a couple years back and it went right into our trash white bucket(what we mix our whites into that we use for highlights or mixing into modified whites.)

Your experience may differ, get a gallon and see how you like it.  I think it's not one of Wilflex's best whites by a long shot.  Their answer to the street fighter series is the Epic Warrior White.  It's a budget white of theirs that isn't bad.  I still prefer Amazing Bright White though.

Same here, we tried Bright Tiger a couple of years ago. A big disappointment considering it was advertised as Wilflex`s brightest white.

I think considering the above you should look into Wilflex epic quick white

we have been using Bright Tiger for about well many years......
We are small time, buy it by the gallon or two  and have maybe used 20 or so gallons over time.

We recently opened gallon about two weeks ago  we tried to print with it on some Gildan hoodies, a job we printed previously and had all kinds  of issues this time we NEVER EVER saw with previously gallons.

HOWEVER it seems there has been some slippage in performance by the gallon over time. Thought it was just me but since they changed to the epic series it has gone down hill.
We passed it of as mild differences but this last bucket SUCKS. WE had to mix it with Artist white to get it to actually act like ink should act and Bright Tiger used to act.
Very disappointed with the current gallon and the slippage over time something has definitely changed.
We are off Bright tiger it ain't what it used to be......................

I think there are a few problems with the Epic series and they started with the pthalate ban.  The opacity of some inks is worse when printed over a white base. I also think they are more susceptible stiffening after temp swings. We try and keep our whites in a temp controlled room until we crack the bucket open.  That seems to help.

We got away from Rutland SF, and went to Rutland Premier white.  In my opinion, it floods and prints way better.
But Ive also never printed with Wilflex whites.
