Title: How to fix oven belt
Post by: Maxie on December 18, 2018, 12:22:05 PM
My belt is tearing next to the crocodile clip.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
I've attached a photograph.

Go to local fire department, find out who fixes their turn-out gear.

They should have a curved needle and fireproof (Nomex) thread that you can use to make a permanent repair.  Leather working & upholstery shops may also be a good source for these materials.

Patch kits are also available that sandwich the damaged area between high temp fabric tape.

Let us know if you find another solution.

Best,

I've done patches, but never fixed a tear like that, but these folks may be able to help.

Why not simply stitch the belt together will take you about 1 hour after materials are obtained.
See drawing detail below.
Or you can contact these guys  https://www.greenbelting.com (https://www.greenbelting.com) . We bought one of their belts to replace our tattered belt. Superior quality, nice price about 1/2 what the OEM wanted. made to size and shipped within 1 week.
