Title: Screen Drying Racks
Post by: kingscreen on June 15, 2019, 08:27:46 AM: I’m looking to add 5-6 rolling racks for 23x31 screens. We currently have a bunch of the AA adjustable ones but wanted to see if anyone recommended other options.

After having the AA ones crack, and ruin full racks of screens having carts that will NEVER break are amazing.

Metal frame on wheels and aluminum angle 1" x 11/2" to hold the frames.
Red ones for dirty screens and blue for clean.
Really easy to build (need to be welded) and cheap.
If you can't weld there must be a metal workshop nearby.
I use the same idea for my platens, I have one for each size.

I have gotten these off of eBay and I had to drill new holes so they fit 23x31 or we had to put everything i an angle and 2 out of 3 ended up cracking.

Post by: Atownsend on June 17, 2019, 05:13:57 PM: We have about 10 or 12 have a bunch of the AA racks. They hold 25 screens, which I like much more than the Nortech that only holds 20. I had been warned about the cracking from someone here before I picked these up but figured we'd be able to spot trouble in advance and remedy it. I was wrong. Last monday I was rolling a rack from exposure room to washout, and there is a little transition hump. Ran over that and two welds cracked simultaneously on opposite sides, causing each screen to dominio down to the ground. Lucky we only lost 4 of our precious work hardened thin thread mzx frames. Could have been much worse. These racks are like playing Russian roulette... How much do custom made GSF racks run? How many screens do they hold?

around $400 per cart.
