Which way do you print sleeves?
« on: November 11, 2011, 08:45:32 AM »
Loaded through the neck so the print is upright facing you?

OR

Loaded through the sleeve so the print is upside down while printing?

I've done it both ways and let's assume this is just for short sleeve tees as long sleeves would make it a load through neck ordeal.  Do you guys find it faster a certain way?  Any reason for your way?

On shorts, I load through the sleeves, I can load faster.  But, with that way you must lay cardboard or another floor covering down or they will pick up all the dirt off the floor.

Short sleeve through the sleeve (mark a line on the board for the bottom of the sleeve & let 'em rip) UNLESS we also have L/S with the same logo.  We're getting ready to do some this morning if you want to watch on our web cam.

Usually through the neck, and positioned so that the seam of the "cuff" is at the edge of my little short sleeve board, with the design on the screen positioned accordingly.
On the manual, if I have to P-F-P, I also tuck the rest of the shirt through a cut off sleeve that I have mounted on each arm, to keep it up, off of the floor, and out of the way. That takes a little time, but gives me peace of mind. I don't like dragging or dangling shirts on the merry-go-round.
Otherwise, on lights, with no flash, like Brad, I lay down cardboard or newspaper as a floor covering.

Always through the neck. I think I can load them at the same speed either way, but I just prefer going through the neck.

I load from the neck.  Just seems easier and quicker that way.

We go through the sleeve too. Draw a line on the pallets where the sleeve goes and run with it. We will be doing the same thing Monday. I think I will just watch you guys for a while so I feel like something gort accomplished this morning.

both for short sleeve, (doesn't seem to matter) but through the neck for long sleeves.

Through the neck for LS , less shirt drag on the ground and through the sleeve on SS so I have a flatter printing surface.

Through the neck for both, shoulder seam serves as a center point to make sure long/short sleeve prints are printed straight down the middle.

We go through the sleeve.  I have built 4 boards that will hold two shirts each. Attach this to our speed table and now we are printing 8 shirts at a time.  We have done 300 shirts is leass than two hours. p/fp with two operators.
