I got laid off from a bag plant (shopping bags).  where i was a machine operator where i turned the massive rolls of film into bags and put the stores logos on them. (rubber stamp).

My brother was looking to sell his screen printing business so while i was collecting unemployment i was learning the ropes of the business from him. and studying all these message boards.  i have been screen printing now for only 2 years but every year keeps getting better and i keep expanding.  i just have a 3 station 6 color press.  not even a name on the press.

I was a pipe welder for 18+ years and working construction all over the USA. Where there was money I was there, usually shutdowns 2-4 weeks. My wife picked up my sons baseball jersey and it had the wrong number on it as a matter of fact there were duplicate numbers on the team. She told the owner at that time if he ever got ready to sell that place call her we could use a place that took a little more concern with the business .... Well 3 months later he called and here I am. I knew nothing about designs ( and still don't ) but we have been truley Blessed. All praise to God !!! Because he led me to this site with all you that freely give good advice. Thnks

I was an executive in the Computer Industry in 95 and was ordering lots of Promo Products, so my son, who was then working in a Bank, decicided to have a go at producing what I needed. In 2000 I was made redundant and my son decided to go back to University and finish his teaching degee, so my wife an I bought the business. We have a 2500sq ft building with a new Gilrow 4 colour manual an Anatol Titan 7/8 about to replace the Gilrow 6/4 a couple of wave instantaneous flashes, a 1 metre Gilrow dryer. I also have a Hotronix heat press and a Roland VP300. We specialise in children's shirts for the Child Care Industry and supply around 400 centres all over Australia. The other part of our business is all wholesale. So I have gone from working for NASA in the 70s to working for children

I was forced into this by the Russian mafia.
There is scarcely anything in the world that some man cannot make a little worse, and sell a little more cheaply. The person who buys on price alone is this man's lawful prey.

I was selling printed tshirts for Fred Hess (now owner of American Screen Supply). After a little while doing that, I was trying to get my foot in the door for graphics at various local companies and needed something that would allow me to do that. Tshirts was an avenue I was somewhat familiar with, so I bought equipment and went to town.... August, 1998
