china supply F*#k up
« on: April 14, 2014, 06:57:41 PM »
argh!!! So i very rarely bother with this crap (for the following reason) but after an initial order have kept doing reorders for a big client of mine.
Snap Back Hats from China. This job was just a standard reorder. My hat supplier has made a mistake with the inside tape, putting the spacing in the wrong place.
The previous orders have been correct but they somehow got it wrong for this one.
I showed my client the hats and she now doesn't want them and has cancelled order.
Any ideas on how i can remove the word 'Bungy' nicely that is in front of AJ Hackett. Any solvent that will work perfectly.
Damn China! i'm down about 3 g from this mistake.

I'd think this would be China's mistake.

Haven't ever dealt with China, so I don't know, but is them fixing the mistake out
of the question?

Most of that China crap you see a pre-production sample.  Was it right if so?

because it was a rerun (4th or 5th time) there was no sample photo given. In hindsight i should have asked for one again.
I have contacted the supplier but have not heard back from them as yet... and to be honest i cant imagine them making any real effort to 'right' the wrong.
I am not a big buyer from them... but hopefully they come back with a solution.
Just thought if there were any ideas as to how i can sort it from this end.

From my experience with china they should comp you. I've seen whole containers rejected without much of a problem

You state China f*cked up...NO more like you did and now you are mad at yourself....ALWAYS get a proof...people think we are crazy that we proof everything and I mean EVERYTHING so that we know that mistakes will not happen and if they do who is at fault so we can correct it.

so if I ordered 500 ts from you and then came back to order 1000 more of the exact same and you had somehow changed the artwork and printed them incorrectly that's my fault because I should have told you to print a sample of my reorder?

oh I see you're talking about soft proofs. sure we do that too. so what does that have to do with messing up a re order? I'm not following your logic as to how this is the posters fault. the first four or five orders well, those were the proofs.

We send out proofs for reorders too, you just never know... then again, we have customers that make mistakes and OK something that's wrong, like a misspelling or incorrect grammar

I made a mistake once; I thought I was wrong about something; I wasn't

Yeah it's all x files over there.  I'll agree with your point, but I think his vendor should replace at their cost.

Seems like this should be easy to get replaced.  It doesn't match a proof this time because they didn't send one.  It doesn't match the proof last time either.  How is this your fault?
