FilmMaker - Margins
« on: October 20, 2015, 04:50:44 PM »
FM is cutting off the margins of our prints on the right side.  Went over with tech support, they said it's not FM but the printer.  Accurip prints fine with no margin cutoff.

I doubt it's the printer but there are not other settings to mess with in FM.  Can't find anything on the printer to adjust further.

Anyone bumped into this before?  FM is installed on Windows 7, printing to Epson 4800

Thanks in advance.

Change paper size of the print/paper size to 1/2" or whatever bigger all round.

Does that work.

Great minds think alike I guess.  Tried that, no dice.  Which is weird right?  Will try again with some different settings in FM though and also try running a 14" image on 17" roll.

Mine does that too. It cuts off the design about a quarter inch from the edge. Never looked in to it, would be cool if there is a solution.

Ya know, I really wasn't buying that it was the printer on this one since it only happens in FM.  I'll do another round of tech support tomorrow and see what I can come up with.

I run quickfilms a rebranded version fm. What setting in fm are you adjusting.
I dont have anything but the size film and density and halftone adjustments  touched.
Tell me and I will look at  what my settings are for you.

I've tried different combos of:

Layout Manager > Layout Mode

Layout Manager > uncheck/check Remove excess white space from output

Media Setup > setting roll width wider than 14" as you suggested

Printer Options > turning on "Use Margins" and setting the Epson 4800 windows driver up to use roll media.

So far nothing has worked so I'd love to see what you have setup to compare.

OK
1. general - I have the printer selected and unprotected on, default print mode
2. media -  roll media default roll 17" for me. my margins are 0 across board
3. layout job as they arrive, auto nest, remove excess white space, for print job - hold.
4. printer overides options -  1440*1440, 1 color black, location of color, cut paper - control panel, default, default, prem. semi gloss, ink volume 50 - i do adjust as humidity changes. no change, no change, use margins, use margins, auto, microweave - auto, min head scan 0, override halftones - off, page dry 0 , paper source - roll, page suction -120%, thickness - control panel, print direction - uni directional, 0, printer  panel, control panel.

This how mine is setup. 4800 FM20_10080C ver sion 4.05.00 build 2931 (quickfilms re-branded filmaker)
