If this is true, could I replace with an Epson head and where would I buy it? Ours looks identical to this 3880.

the back is different than the 3880. ours looks like the below.

I don't know the answer to that. You'd have to find out exactly the model head it is.

We use Epson based CTS. Local Epson does all repairs on printengine. Probably you might call local Epson tech
