Maybe you just need to invert the colors?

Sometimes, getting information from clients is like pulling teeth.
I have found myself relying on two things more and more lately.
1. Using the word "exactly" when I ask them what they want.
2. Encouraging them to make sketches and snap pics with their phone.

Now, with art, I often also need to find out if they want the input of my creative expertise, or if they merely want me to execute their wishes.
Also, and this one probably not going to work with you, when I give a quote, it often has the included caveat of a limited number of tweaks and re-do's.
Many know Jeri Clow, of Motorsports Illustrated, and with her relatively high-end stuff, she had two pricing scales. For those who knew her work and quality, and trusted her judgement, she offered a substantially discounted version with very limited edits.

Thanks, Mooseman!
You're right- but have experienced this for 10 long years with this guy!
Think this ended it!

They sent a bnw, then asked for color, then asked for bnw.
Your guess is BETTER than MINE!

Frog, I have tried everything- nothing worked, and nearly every job was this kind of battle- for 10 years!
Oh, well, it appears he's going elsewhere!

The sun is coming out!
The birds are singing!
