Spot remover and Comfort Colors Shirt
« on: January 18, 2017, 07:53:08 AM »
I don't print allot of Comfort Colors Brand shirts, they are pigment dyed. I had a grey shirt with a black spot on the back, so I use my spot gun which has Tex-out spot remover chemical in it. I tried removing the spot which would not remove, I think it was made into the fabric. Anyway not only did the spot not come out, but where the spot removal chemical was sprayed it turned dull white. My question not being familiar with pigment dye products (Is it not safe to use spot remover on pigment dye). Thanks in advance.

DON'T do it!  We've made that mistake also.

Since those clowns pack so much pigment into the shirt, we've found that using duct tape to essentially pull off stains and spots works. It does pull off the very top layer of pigment, but it's unnoticeable on the shirt. You can see just how much they put on when you look at the tape! Any major stains or ink smudges will not come off, but minor ones get pulled right up with 3-5 stick-and-rip pulls of tape.

Try it, it's been a life saver for us. Tonypep is the wizard that taught me that trick.

Another vote for tape method. I like to kinda stretch the area where the spot is, then stick and rip as much as necessary.
