Just started experimenting with discharge

So we jumped right in and printed a 4 color discharge job right off the bat after a few 1 color test runs. I printed the same image on 3 colors...navy, a light green, and yellow shirt. All of the shirts were 100% cotton. The prints came out great on the navy and yellow but the white layer didnt come out so great on the green. It actually came out looking like a light tonal of the green almost. My thought is that the problem is the green dye in the fabric. Do you guys think I am right on that? It's not even a hunter green but more like kelley green.

It is the dye. There is a blue dyestuff found in most royals purples, and many greens that resistes the process.

The attachment is a discharge rating chart on Gildan's shirts you might find helpful in the future. I don't know how accurate it is for other manufacturers.

I have tried discharge a few times but with little success. Union discharge system is what we used. What do you use?

I am using Rutlands wb-99 discharge line. The one advantage I do have is that we make our own garments so I am going to try to get in touch with the garment factory about this.

When we had a dye house making our blank custom colors they would submit new colors and we would test. Or you can set them up with a little print jig and the industrial hair dryer for instant results.

too much activator will effect the vibrancy of some colors.  sound like your on the right track though.. i sampled some sericol texcharge waterbase today and i cant believe the vibrant color..
