USPS Discounts
« on: March 28, 2022, 02:23:54 PM »
I will be shipping 4500 water bottles USPS individually across the US. Does anyone have knowledge if I can buy discounted postage? Any input is much appreciated.

negative. they don't do discounts like that, and typically you have to hit certain volume thresholds over a period of time to get any discounts.

You can try and work with UPS or FEDEX as they both have options that work with USPS, but generally unless you're spending MILLIONS of dollars with USPS, there are no discounts.

I'd just try and make sure you have your shipping weights and dims dialed.

We spend about $1mil in USPS postage right now.

Like Eric said, talk to your UPS or FedEx reps as they may be able to help, although you may put in more work than you save to set it up.

For UPS there is Mail Innovations https://www.ups.com/us/en/supplychain/solutions/mail-innovations.page where you pre-sort your shipments in bags, they carry them in bulk to USPS Distro and USPS does the last step of the delivery.

You could try to piggyback onto http://shippo.com or Shopify's discount codes for shipping but for 4500 labels you'd probably want Endicia if printing labels for USPS.

Maybe look into this https://www.pirateship.com/usps/priority-mail-cubic
