in general he is on the right track, but he is at a minimum mixing trademark/IP with copyright.

Yes, we've won our share of awards, and yes, I've tested stuff and read the scientific papers, but ultimately take everything I say with more than just a grain of salt! So if you are looking for trouble, just do as I say or even better, do something I said years ago!

One thing you can do that will be and can be protected is using AI to give you something work from and create your own.  You can bring in lets say a fish, trace the outline and do your own painting and that is now your piece of art that is protected.
