yeah, wtf is that all about? That place has become useless. . .pisses me off to see such a nice place go all to hell over stupid squat. I'm friggen done, I am not changing my e-mail account for that bs. Poor Preston, all that work and it's now a big pile of steaming dog squat.
Ditto... I won't be updating my E-addy on SPOF.
I think Preston made a mistake... but, it's his Forum... so-be-it.

Such a waste. There must be more to the story as to why certain people are given such a prominent voice over there.
Maybe we shouldn't dwell on it anymore but it just begs for an answer as to why. Discriminating on the basis of "jerk factor" on a forum can be good business.

ya know, bakers -I gotta say this place has more intelligence and useful info than any other site I've seen.  There are some really brilliant minds and a ton of knowledge here. I hate to do it but I am removing my tab for spof. . .good bye old friend.

I'm sure we are all aware of various organizations/fraternaties, etc. that practice some degree of "membership control".

I personally know of a couple such organizations that when someone is applying for membership, the members are given a white marble/ball and a black one.  They choose a white marble and place it in a container (that nobody can see into) if they accept the persons application, or a black marble if they don't accept the persons application.

That is where the term "black-balled" comes from.  In some organizations it only takes ONE black marble to reject someone regardless of how many white marbles there are.
Grant me the ability to change the things I can, the strength to accept the things I cannot and the wisdom to recognize the difference.

I'm unaware of ANY with the word OPEN in their name.

One question i have, is if guests have really been banned from viewing the "open forum" without registration?

My other question is how cheaply did preston sell his soul to asdf?

Andy,

Someone suggested this site, so here I am.

Can you tell me how to ignore on this site?

I assume it has this feature.

The quick answer Don't look! (just kidding)

No automatic ignore feature available yet.
We are still  running on the bare bones software version until we make our name change within the next week or so.
We had hoped to do it a week ago, but ran into some hurdles.
That rug really tied the room together, did it not?

I am now self-banned from there. I actually had very high hopes for that place.

Sadness.
There is scarcely anything in the world that some man cannot make a little worse, and sell a little more cheaply. The person who buys on price alone is this man's lawful prey.

Sadness.

I made Preston delete my account about a year ago.  He let Barney on there then, I new where it was headed.

Sadness.

I know someone else who had a "self ban", this time I know it is a self and not forced ban :)
It is just sad that someone will be willing to loose most of the members instead of banning one (one person, few aliases).
But then again, most of the people complaining are set with the equipment and not looking into buying a new "and improved" blue colored press.

Sadness is a right word to use :(

Actually Preston was trying to avoid anyone running two accounts with different names, he's trying to do the right thing.
