How do you "buldge" a text in coreldraw x5?
« on: September 04, 2012, 04:48:53 PM »
I have a design I am working on in coreldraw x5....and i want to buldge the text like it is coming towards you in the middle of the text...like it is pushing outward from the center.

I am messing with the envelope tool and distort tool but I cant seem to get the "pushing outward" design correctly..I can warp it fromt he center up or down.....and its kind of close to what I'm looking for, but It's that center outward warp I need to get.

Can anyone hit me with some knowledge?

I got close to what I wanted...using the envelop tool...I chose "Single Arc Mode" at the top...and on the top and bottom of the text i pulled the node up on the op..and down on the bottom...gives me that good budlged effect.

I have an action illustrated design tool add on that has all types of nice text effects and center bulge is one of them.  If you need something done and sent to you I would be happy to help out.

You should be able to hold shift while pulling the top node up.  The bottom node will then move an equal distance down.

Or maybe its ctrl.

When using the envelope tool also use the shift or Ctrl key, one will mirror the effect on the opposite node inwards and the other outwards.

Interactive Envelope Tool is the way to go i.m.o. I like to use the "nudge" to move the nodes, to get a true curve you also need to adjust the corner curve arrows.

Top sample is top and bottom center nodes nudged up and down respectively.
Bottom sample shows the corner curve arrows adjusted to make it a smother curve rather than a wave shape. (Nudge also works on the corner curve arrows to keep things even.)
