Title: Epson Eco Tank for film positives?
Post by: nobrainsd on November 28, 2021, 12:29:04 PM
My 3880 is busted :( I am considering another printer. I do not print a lot of film and did use my printer for full color photo work. The Epson Eco Tank Models appear attractive due to the much lower ink costs. Would not expect quite the gamut on color prints compared to the 9 cartridge 3880. But would like to know if anyone is using an Eco Tank model for films and whether it handles film positives well.

I am running a et-7750. It is great for normal stuff. I will occasionally run a small, basic film in a pinch. I am not using a RIP so the film lacks density. I will even tape 2 films together to get the required opacity... If you run with a proper RIP I think the ink savings would be great. I have had this printer for 2 years and still have not bought more ink. I think it is only $20.00 or so per color when I do need some if a few more months.
