Title: spring loaded kickstand
Post by: tonypep on January 18, 2018, 01:57:28 PM
Looking for one. For table printing. It props up the screen at an angle. Probably hard to find new. I know Rick has some. Anyone else?

Your going to think this is crazy, but we used to use paint mixing sticks and loosely screw them to the wood frames.  when you would pick the screen up the weight of them would let one end fall and act as a prop if you don't screw it int he middle of the paint stick.  With some easy engineering you could make a mount that would attach to the side or top of a metal frame.

With one hand you can gently lift the screen and swing the paint stick back up.

I used to think I wanted one or two for the flatwork  I do but for some reason
I keep thinking that pushing down on a spring loaded stick just might cause
registration  problems as most of the flatwork I do has very, very close tolerances.
I vote for the paint stick too. Drill a small pilot hole in a static as long as you don't
put it in a dip tank.

AWT makes a small kickstand. Check out the following:

I’ve personally always just use a clamp and counterweight rigged to the ceiling, or if your ceilings are far too high, make a rig like the set up below

I have one of these for bigger screens i can send you. I never liked it much and prefer a chain coming down from ceiling and using a small clamp as a hook
