Title: All the beautiful colors
Post by: tonypep on December 04, 2013, 08:30:49 AM
Creating all new swatch books has become a fascinating excersize. So many new ingredients available.
I've been analyzing old formulas and, in some cases, reinventing them, often reducing the amount of RFU/PC. In most cases three or less pigments will yield the cleanest colors. Also with the advent of the flo RFUs new colors have been created such as Orbit Red, Almost Teal, Deep Ocean, Rich Olive, Screaming Lime, etc. In the end we will probably wind up with 200 colors. The books allow the Art dept almost endless options. Next year color overlay books project.

You could sell that for some serious coin.  I know you wouldn't but I know there are some shops out there that would pay good money for something like that.

I know, oh well. I'm pretty stoked about it anyway. The overlay books illustrate the end result of over printing solid DCs wet on wet using three one inch circles which in turn create secondary and tertiary colors.
Last count is thirty blues (btw we need more drab for Zoo/Aquarium, Outdoor, rich, bright hues for Resort)

Tony, what are the chances of you posting some pics of some of the swatches?

Thanks
Chris
