A little bird told me iodine prices had a 300% jump in price due to supply/demand issues. Since I'm told this is a major component in Sodium Metaperiodate which is the primary chemical component in virtually all reclaim chemistries expect a jump in those products. My supplier told me they currently do not have enough to fill existing orders.

are we talking ink or emulsion degrader? Just so I know what to stock up on . . .

$20 a gallon. About $30 worth to fill up my dip tank.

It could also be Periodic Acid... Sodium Metaperiodate is usually the crystal form if I am not mistaken......

The name makes me think of enzymes, but I could be incorrect.

Actually you are correct. Periodate salt per the MSDS.
