Title: The Ink Kitchen
Post by: Rick Roth on February 12, 2014, 08:07:29 PM
I have been screenprinting for about 40 years, starting in my basement with hand made screens and exposure units made from light bulbs and pie plates and ending up winning awards and printing all kinds of crazy stuff. I've launched a blog with my friend Tom Davenport of Motion Textile in Sacramento, CA. We hope to have all kinds of posts that will be of interest to printers and garment folks and embroiderers. We are in the process of setting up a system that is useful but not intrusive, but until then I would welcome comments on the blog and topics you would be interested in seeing.  My work can be seen at Monkeyfishprinting.com  The blog is at theinkkitchen.com  I'm in particular interested in what y'all think of my posts today and tomorrow about American Apparel, and then what topics you would like to see on technical screenprinting.

thanks
Rick

Hey Rick, great post about AA. I know it is rather popular to beat up on them these days but I like them and their products. Being primarily a water base and discharge printer their blanks work great for us. And having visited my friends in their factory myself I can say it is a very impressive factory at that. Subsidized food, free health care for employees and their families, daycare, their own bank, and other perks are amazing. It's kind of like looking back at an America past, since now almost every business is about answering to the share holder instead of worrying about the people that actually make up the company. But that's capitalism. Sorry, I am off topic. But anyway, good job!
