Hello just curious on a quicker way to clean the Javelin V Squeegee in between jobs for different colors, Im looking to grab some extras for the colors we print on a regular basis. I also thought about grabbing a 5- 6 Gallon tool cleaner metal unit from Harbor Freight & keep some press wash in it, just wondering would the chemical harm or effect the blades in any way? Thanks In adavance guys!

When I had a javelin my way of cleaning those PITA squeegees was finding something stiff with a very sharp edge and sharp 90 degree corner on it. Then scrape the squeegee down as much as possible. With good edges you can get 90% off easily then either use a dry rag to wipe off the rest or scrub it with some ink degrading and blast with the pressure washer.

Get a squeegee cleaner from shur loc. I use it for auto and manual squeegees and spatulas.

Cant see a V squeegee set up working well in that unit.

Ditto.
The Shurloc cleaner is a nice unit, but it does not handle bends or such very well. Winged flood bars we have are difficult in the unit. Maybe ask Shurloc directly if they have a solution for the V squeegees, I have found them to be pretty straight shooters.

The V Squeegee fits in nicely, I had a Javelin until about a month ago and cleaned the v squeegees with it all the time. It is not useful for the winged floodbars I have now.

I'm pleading the 5th on this one since I haven't actually tried this yet, but David said at the Long Beach show last year that they brought a few of them over to be cleaned. He had to get pretty hard with it, just jamming it in, but he just ran one side at a time through the system and it worked pretty well. I would love to see someone with a Squeegee Clean give this a shot and shoot me over a video of it - just so we can see what it looks like in real world conditions. If you are up to trying it out, let me know, we might have something special for you!

use my system...it's cheaper too..
it's 2 broom heads with a pvc pipe between them with holes drilled every couple of inches. the fluid pumps through them and saturates the broom heads.

Anyone else have any success cleaning the V squeegee with Shurlock's cleaner?

I don't have V squeegees so I can't answer for sure. I do have the cleaner, and I would think V squeegees would be a pain in it. If someone doesn't chime in that has both, maybe try PMing the Shurlock guy on the boards here. They would of had to of had someone with V squeegees try it out at one time or another.

i just bought a 5 gallon parts washer off craigs list for $30 bucks fluid runs through the brush, that things works great for the v-squeegees that i have...cheap and works killer for goop scoops or mixing blades...
