Title: How to get FilmMaker v4 to print spot color films
Post by: Rockers on March 14, 2014, 10:18:43 PM
Just downloaded the trail and tried to output a simple spot color film. But all it does is printing halftones. I`m sure I must have overlooked some settings but I`m not sure which one.

Make sure you have color correction set for illustrator or photoshop (your software) rather than the RIP.

Color correction? Where do I find that setting. Is that part of the print mode options?

It's rather strange, the artwork we tried to output was all set to Pantone black but once ripped in Filmmaker it showed us 5 pages, 4 empty and one with the image which came out as a halftone film.
Would I have to disable the "in rip separation" setting?

You are printing the CMYK pages too and those are blank.
Which program are you printing out of?

Well I had no time setting up printing directly from Illustrator. so what I have done is save the .ai file on a memory stick and import it that way from my Mac to our pc. Generally speaking I place the file front USB stick right into filmmaker.
