HP Z400 Workstation Xeon Quad-Core W3565 3.2GHz - http://www.ebay.com/itm/HP-Z400-Workstation-Xeon-Quad-Core-W3565-3-2GHz-8GB-1TB-DVDRW-Windows-7-Pro-/151208282293?clk_rvr_id=607864445109&mfe=sidebar (http://www.ebay.com/itm/HP-Z400-Workstation-Xeon-Quad-Core-W3565-3-2GHz-8GB-1TB-DVDRW-Windows-7-Pro-/151208282293?clk_rvr_id=607864445109&mfe=sidebar)
Going from dual core intel 3.2 pentium D and a dual cpu dual core 2.2 amd HP x9400.
I am seeing a huge increase in processing and win 7 already with 1tb hard and 8gb ram. For the price seems hard to beat. Opinions????
Will be running Corel Drawx6 x64 to Photoshop/Illustrator X6 64 bit, email and mozilla. Plus on one computer my Filmmaker off brand(GDS or Garment Decorating Supply - rebrand of filmmaker)
Thanks,
Shane

a Xeon processor is server grade...so you can't go wrong there. it will be an upgrade, you should talk to Pierre about this, he used to deal in used gear...recommended some great stuff for us.

from what I can tell, that looks pretty good. The only thing missing was the information on the RAM, is it ECC? In my opinion (and many here will disagree) buying a workstation without ECC is like buying a car without ABS. Yes, it is done all the time, but I would not do it. . .

Thanks for the Feedback from you both. I felt it was a good if not great deal, for the money.
Thanks again,
