A contract job..going on grey shirts...unknown if dark grey or light grey....but in any case would this require an underbase?
-
I would, because there are highlights on the lobster that would need white underneath or they would end up as "lowlights" to coin a phrase; and it you're putting it there, then I would put it under all of the red. So black, white, flash, red. Maybe a highlight white, but that depends on what the customer wants to spend...

I would sep that with a base white; red; black; top white.
edit: Just zoomed on the image...i would probably print a gray. Depending on the actual garment color/colors used. You could also get away with a black tone in those areas.
-
I would print two whites, underbasing the red with 1st white and print the second white last or just before the black. That's just me though.
also, the drop shadow... fashion soft clear through a high mesh.
-
You could halftone the shadows using the black or use clear with a tiny percentage of black (like 0.5%). Depending on their budget and how "quality" you want the final print, you could do it in 3 screens or up to 5 screens.

ok..i will underbase it....i will use a dark grey for the shadows....should i underbase the dark grey?...im figuring darker grey on a grey shirt maybe i will not need to make the underbase for the grey shadow.
-
No I would not underbase the dark grey no need to same reason for not underbasing the black.

I missed the dark gray, I thought it was black, and no, don't underbase the gray. If you need to compromise for colors, a 50% or so black would work for the shadow.
I think we're all pretty much on the same page. Again, how much does the end user want to pay?
