Just a day or so ago, Scott (Command Z) mentioned the importance of a good ergonomic chair.

I thought that you were going to say that your back hurt from printing, and I have seen many wearing back supports over the years.

Short term, anti-inflamatories with some ice at the end of the day and heat or heat cream at the beginning of the day.  Long term, strengthening your core, specifically your ab muscles and lower back muscles.

I think rest and ice. Then stretch your leg muscles tight hammies can cause big problems. The best thing I had to get over the hump was acupuncture, it relaxes your muscles a ton and allows you time to heal.

I think the primary problem for the back pain is the contortions required to be "in" the computer.  You're supposed to work "on" the computer.  ;)

I never spent much time sitting,so maybe mine's not the same, but after 3 disk surgeries and more cortisone shots than i can remember and traditional and electrical acupuncture, I've been pain free for a few years. Beside the drugs and alcohol, which I still use as preventative measures, I found that alternating between ice and heat worked well.
