Title: CCI pigments with Matsui discharge base
Post by: Rockers on June 04, 2014, 10:18:37 AM
Anyone tried it, does it work as well as using the pigments with the CCI discharge base? We really would like to continue using the CCI pigments but I can`t see us always shipping CCI bases half around the world if I can buy Matsui bases for an apple and an egg here in Japan. Their pigments here suck though and it was confirmed that they are different to the Matsui pigments you can buy in the States.

For the most part you can switch out bases, pigs, and activators

I use the reverse of that, CCI base with Matsui pigments. Seems to work fine, no curdling or apparent PH issues

No expert on discharge here, but we have used CCI pigs/base/activator with other DC brands and vice versa without problem.

That being said, my Rutland WB99 base does not play well with the matsui black pigment. Turns to cottage cheese in a heartbeat. But you didn't ask about Rutland/Matsui!
