On Friday I was running our smaller press by myself and had 2 screens burned for a white ink on purple, royal, and black G2000's. Well I had a container of white that actually had 3 whites mixed in it. No we usually don't do that but in all the hustle and bustle earlier in the week a small amount of two other white screens got mixed into the container. ANYWAY, throw some of the ink in the underbase screen and here is what I it with 1 hit...

I was pleasantly surprised!
Screen was a 150s with a 55/95/55 squeegee.

Hell yeah, nice coverage man.. Fingers crossed my s-mesh screens show up this week. ;D
What three inks were blended together?

Ahhhhhh, good point! In a qt. container there was probably 70% Rutland Tidy White, 25% Green Galaxy Meteor White, and 5% One Stroke Pure Plus White. Not that I am proud of having the hodge-podge of ink, but it was a series or 2 errors and then me just being in a hurry and taking what we had sitting there for a white underbase!
The S frames are great, we have been converting ALL our frames over now when they need re stretching or re placing. The 55/95/55 squeegee though, that recommendation came from Pierre.

Taking out the One Stroke, that ink mix sounds similar to what Alan uses at his shop, and I saw some serious results that he achieved with it when I attended the workshop there. I've been waiting to get through my current 5g of Street Fighter in anticipation of making the switch myself.
I have a 65/95/65 sitting at my shop that I ordered in a couple months ago and haven't had a chance to load up yet. Will definitely give it a shot this week.

55/95/55
Point taken... Where can I purchase said blade? The lowest/highest I can find is 60/90/60.

Serilor txs3 is the 55/90/55. Multiple distributors in the U.S.

tech support SPS is a sponsor here and they can get it for you. Nazdar is also a dealer, but they are overpriced on this item by a lot!

Agreed, I bought a roll of it from Nazdar and it seems to me that it was like $300 ouch!!!

I'd wager a 70 duro double bevel would reproduce this if not better. Simple physics.

55/95/55, like Pierre, that's what caught my eye. Here's something else that will work, much harder durometer, like a 90, with a bullet nose. It holds detail too; needless to say, you're putting a lot of ink down. I'm pretty sure it's your blade that made it work.

Double bevel might do it but to run the squeegee at really fast speeds the DB tends to fall short due to the tip not being sharp enough or rigid enough. The 85 duro DB would be a better choice for one hits in my opinion.
I wish I could calculate how much money we save every year by getting one hit colors on darks. It's 5 figures I bet. Maybe I'll try to keep up with it for a while and see if I can put a number on it.

Alex, do you not get close results to that with Tidy white by itself? The only reason I modify the Tidy here is to make it more auto friendly and so it doesn't ride up the squeegee. By itself it's as opaque a white as I've ever used and lengthening the body just a tad doesn't hurt that but it doesn't really add any opacity for the most part either.

TCT, did you guys run it as a one hit? I mean was that the final print or did you use the 2nd screen after all? Just curious.

The white part yes we did run it as a 1 hit. A good portion of the design has gold over it too though.

Not usually, but we haven't really been using that exact blade before. Now I threw it into a few squeegees! :D

Touché my friend, you are right. Just looked online and it is a 60/90/60, here is where I got it-

The place is ridiculously cheap and I was skeptical at first but so far all the squeegee rubber I have gotten and ink spatulas have been perfect. We even get the small screen frames for our tag printer from them. The scoop coater was kinda crap though.

Send me 16" of your double bevel and I'll print it out to test. Screen hasn't been reclaimed yet....

Awhile back I did a job for a DTG printer who had already pre-treated the shirts with whatever they do to them for the Inkjet, anyway I hit the white 1 or 2 strokes and flashed it looked great and all the top colors fell right in place on black shirts....might be something to that pre-treating.
