I have a local police officer looking for me to do some reflective 'POLICE' on the back of his jackets.
what font do they typically use for that?
looks like I could get away with just 'arial' but wondering if there's something more 'official' I should use?

Impact is a good choice, it's bold and authoritative. It is also rather narrow so you can go taller with the letters and have a bigger print.

I agree. I've seen plenty of different fonts used but IMPACT would definitely be my choice if no specifics were given.
