...that cause many to suggest that I get a life (or a therapist)
My wife asked me today to bring her a sucker (in this case, a Tootsie Roll Pop)
I realized that something was screwy because, she, in fact was the "sucker" and the candy was the "sucked" or "suckee".
What's up with that?

That is a profouns conundrum!
-
So where do roller frames fit into all this? :o
-
My recommendation is you not try to share your vision on this with Mrs. Frog as you may find yourself sitting uncomfortably on one end of a rolled paper stick. ::)

I (think) she used the word "sucker" as an adjective of the sugary treat she requested, whereas you see it as a noun.
I think.

Too late, as you may expect, she was the first recipient of my deep thought, LOL!
And the paper stick is where it belongs, in the recycling, with no painful detours or stopovers.

Nope Tom, I'm not buying it! You can't bring someone an adjective.
Besides, we all know that is the common, though somewhat less charming term for lollypop. I'm not faulting her for using the term, just for the fact that the term itself is strange if you make the mistake of thinking about it.
Not unlike the Carlin-esque questions about terms like fire fighters, and freedom fighters. Are they for or against?

"Honey, will you please bring me a suckee?"
^^^ maybe because THAT just sounds REALLY FREAKIN CREEPY?!
