We are going to start moving some stuff around in the shop, and before we go venting anymore pipes through our roof, does anyone know if the belt flow on these two dryers can be reversed or flipped?
I think it's possible on the Sprint International, but i didn't know if it is on the mini sprint.
thanks!

I can't remember off the top of my head right now, but I don't think the mini can.
??Can you reverse wiring on the belt motor??
-
On the Mini , belt motor can easily be changed since it is a DC motor, just fiip flop the two power leads and motor direction will be reversed.

I'm not certain but I think 244 mentioned that just reversing the motor direction would not work, that there'll be a belt tracking issue..

I think he meant you would just have to adjust it each time you switched it. So if you are reversing it on a permanent or long-term temporary basis, you'd just make the tracking adjustment once and it would be fine until you wanted to run it the other way again.

I know when you order from the factory you have to tell them which direction you want it so changing it might void the warranty? I would just call the M&R hotline Monday morning. They will have all your answers and then some!

you can change directions on both units. The Sprint has a frequency drive that runs a three phase motor. Flipping two of the leads will reverse the travel. The Minisprint if it's the d.c. Version just needs the two wires flipped. It is not the best scenario as a belt will always track better if the drive motor roller is pulling the belt instead of pushing it but it will work. Just a little more difficult to track. Call our service department and have your serial numbers ready and the tech will tell you exactly which wire numbers to switch and will record the change on the records. Better for you or any future owner of the machines as we will know what we are troubleshooting in the future.

Could you not swap the frame the belt rides on end for end thus moving the roller with the drive motor to the opposite end?

you could but that would intail running new wires to the motor as well as the belt motion sensor.

Flexable conduit,15 feet of wire,
Tie wrapped.... Bam done in 2 hours

And bam your dryer is no longer AGA/CGA approved due to a field conversion. Flipping the wires won't affect it because you are not materially adding anything but once you start adding wire it would need a field inspection to still be approved. VERY expensive and not recommended. There would be no problem until something unexpected happen like a conveyor stopping and a fire started. May never happen but.
