Anatol just introduced there new L.E.D exposure unit the Auroa, just saw a few pic's on there website, not a bad looking machine. I'll have to see if any vids will pop up as they start to ship them out customers, I would love to have one of those units, but I just can't see me tossing the unit I have now, but if it goes out I'm all over it. Price I think they start around 35 to 37 hundred for one that will expose one full auto screen.

Everyone is lining up I'm sure. ;)
One day Anatol is going to make a sweepstakes winner and reward you their complete line up.. (Conditions being that you're their endorsement person..) I can see the pom poms now..
-
The arrangement of the LED's in that pic on the link is interesting. It looks to be for two small screens and not one large one, but I could be wrong.

That's almost what I told my sales guy last time he made his routine sales call to me.
-
I told them I would be their spokesman but they didn't respond...

Wish there would be actually more info about the actual LEDs used in that unit. How many for example would be a good starting point.Looking at this I feel rather drawn to the Vastex units or the Starlight from M&R.

If you blow the picture up, you can see the bulb arrangement better. It looks like there's a full field of small UV LED's and another grouping of a different lamps for non-exposure purposes.

Yeah, these old eyes kinda' saw maybe 32 rows of 50 LED's, about 1600 covering the entire area.
-
The spacing is interesting, wonder what the reasoning or theory is behind where they are? Nice you can store times in it for recall if you need to....
So this would go for all LED units, if we got one for our auto screens which are 25x36's is there a downside to exposing the manual 18x20's or whatever they are that we have on the same large unit?
-
With hundreds of LED's edge to edge, why would it matter?
I'm assuming that the many, many small bluish lights are the UV exposure bad-boys, and the few short rows of whiter, pinker lights have another purpose.
Maybe easier to see in this enlarged pic
-
Ahhhhhhhh you have pointed out my ignorance Frog, thanks:P I looked at it and assumed the pink lights were the exposure lights, not "auxiliary" or backlights...

There was a video of it on Anatol's Facebook page. Led spacing mimics the starlight. Control feature has a vacuum pressure sensor setting that it uses instead of a vacuum countdown timer which is in my opinion a better method over the starlight. 1k cheaper than a starlight is also tempting.

I assure you this unit does not compare to the Starlight and our exclusive LED's. Make sure you get a money back guarantee if you buy it as well as a lifetime replacement on all the LED's even if one fails! Price isn't everything as a lot of people have found out.

No offense Rich but can there ever be a post on this forum concerning other products and just stick with those products. Every post in the last year about LED units has been hijacked and turned into an M&R thread. Its nothing against M&R.

Rich wasn't the one that brought M&R into the thread, so you might want to ask someone else.

Sorry but I disagree someone made a slight statement that the led bulb pattern was similar that some how warranted a money back garauntees and what not. Its been the same for every single thread that is a product other than M&R.

I see a few of you have jumped on here to start your bash and crash, if you don't like Anatol equipment there is no reason for you to post if all you want to do is talk Chit!!!. I posted this because I like my equipment just like any of you that like your equipment, and to start a thread about the exposure unit. Again don't turn this into a bash Anatol thread, just check out the exposure if you like and make Pro's & Con's about the exposure unit not bullchit that has nothing to do with the topic. Now I've said that I can't tell anyone anything about any LED unit than no more than what I've read and seen in vids, I don't own one and not planning on getting one unless my old unit bites the dust, but it would be good to have option's in brands and price's.

Well without a doubt it will be compared to the starlight as they are 100% comparable products designed to do the same exact thing. I know the starlight uses $$$ LED's. I DON'T know if the Aurora does.
Most people posting here are consumers who will inevitably compare comparable products. So, if you want to PROVE that the starlight is better, do that. You have that power. Just saying it doesn't compare isn't enough for some consumers.

Yeah, that shows the vacuum pressure sensor feature. I think that's really cool. It takes vacuum TIME out of the equation and used a measurable vacuum value instead.
-
Sorry to talk about something besides the Anatol, but I didn't really like the vacuum time feature of the Vastex unit but once you got things dialed in I'm sure it wouldn't be a big deal. I would like a unit to come on automatically once it reaches the right vacuum level and then turn off once the exposure is done but having a timer could be worked around once you got familiar with the unit. The first couple of screens I burned on the Vastex I didn't have a clue on how long it was going to take it to vacuum so I got lucky that I didn't mess up any of those first few screens and Kevin had used it enough to get us close.

The vacuum sits on the floor? Do what?
Yep, looks like. I'd put it inside the legs of the frame. Actually if it we me I probably wouldn't order a stand for it so the pump would sit wherever's convenient. I'm sure they could have offered a bolt on shelf that comes with the stand, but heck it's not that big a deal. The fact that it has 1-4 presets and a vacuum sensor makes it a true one-button-push exposure. Or two if you change to a different time preset.
-
Just looks like a afterthought to me. Like "oh ya we need a vacuum pump". LOL
-
on the 2331, the M&R pump is the same way if you don't buy the stand... mine sits on the floor behind the cabinet the unit is on.
I'm actually impressed with the vacuum start feature, as well as the 4 presets.
Looks like Anatol did a nice job developing this.
Would be interesting to see some real-world exposure numbers, specifying the emulsion type...

It would also be interesting to see how happy Anatol users (and their equipment) get received here.
I'd say that it has improved to "unpleasant" from downright "nasty" so, to quote John and Paul, "I've got to admit it's getting better (Better)
A little better all the time (It can't get much worse)"

The slow vacuum time was actually my fault; due to me setting the glass incorrectly. I did not have the glass pushed 100% all the way back against that back seal and some air was escaping from under the blanket into the light chamber. I discovered this when I dropped that that exposure off at my customers shop, and he mentioned the pump being slow. Once I undid all the screws and reset the glass for him; the pump worked a lot quicker since it wasn't pulling from the light chamber.
That is my handy work.

I can say that I may not have considered Lawson equipment prior to the purchase of their LED unit about a year ago. The unit has been flawless so far.

I have to point out that so many people like the fact that a manufacturer will participate and post about his product or service. how many times have you all mentioned how you want Anito to come on and participate? Rich participates.
Now when you go back and look, there were 2-3 post before his that were mentioning and comparing his product with another. He made one post. (One) and it's called out as "Hijacking".
I don't see that as hijacking, but rather "participation" like you've all said you like the suppliers and manufacturers to do. If rather see more of it from others as well.

Uh yea Dan I think your opinion on this would be a but objective sorry but thats a fact.
You really do fail to see my point or just ignore it. The past couple of years on this forum has been heavily geared towards M&R which is perfectly fine because their product is excellent. But any time another manufacturer tries to participate it usually ends up in a bash fest and potentially scares the other reps away. This has even been alluded to by a Stooge once or twice. I am not saying M&R is to blame at all it is the culture of this forum altogether.
I personally have been following the LED exposure progress since that first fellow showed up on here and allowed Pierre to demo it. I have heard everything there is to know about the M&R unit thanks to a lot of users on this forum but it would be nice to hear about the other ones in the market and why different price points are the way they are.
I have seen a few "other" manufactures threads completely derail into either a bash fest or go M&R and it is sad and hardly how this forum will ever have good representation from other reps.
Trust me on the Dan, I am not the only one that has noticed this trend over the past year or so, so what ever you say to me includes others.

The bigger Starlight is like 10 and a half delivered? At less than half I'd imagine there will be a lot of people looking at these...

Inkman.
I have purposely not posted in the last year due to some of the bashing but I have to step in on this one. You are correct that other people do not post due to some of the harassing but this time you are forgetting a few things here. Everyone wants other manufactures to promote and give the features of their products but it doesn't seem to happen. It is not because of M&R. I cannot think of one time, except in the old Mr. B. days that Rich Hoffman and myself bashed an owner of another manufacturer on these boards. I do recall many times you have bashed and Bar B Qued poster and driven people off with your two cents attitude. I recall the post by Mr.Quan, I believe that was the gentleman's name looking to buy and automatic. It's easy to accuse Rich of this because he is the only owner that cares enough about his products and spends hours explaining and yes, sometimes defending them on these boards. I'm not trying to start problems here but I agree with the prior post that you are a little to sensitive.
People who live in glass houses usually don't throw stones.

Just looks like a afterthought to me. Like "oh ya we need a vacuum pump". LOL
Every exposure unit I've ever used had a vacuum pump on the floor. No table units though, only the big stand alone units, like an Advance Polycop. It's not unusual at all.
Steve
I'll read further to see if the difference in the led's are all about. We will go there eventually ourselves...

The nice benefit of the pump being outside the unit is when it comes time to replace it, it would be very easy to get too, and you should probably have to replace the pump well before those LEDs on any brand unit. ;)

Brandt I guess you've only seen a few exposure units, I've seen a few units that have the pump sitting out like that, I thought it look crazy to but soon found out it was the norm

there are actually quite a few expose units out there that have floor sitting vacuum units. My first exposure unit, M&R first light unit had a vacuum pump that sat on the floor, it's not uncommon. My Richmond was the same.

I apologize, I didn't mean the slow time, just the way the function worked. I knew the first time I tried it that the glass wasn't right and the next time it was fast. It's hard to explain but the way I though the function worked was you set the vacuum timer and once that timer was done the exposure would start, and in the beginning we didn't have a clue how long to set it for. But once you get used to the unit it would become an afterthought because you'd know exactly how long it takes to draw down and you'd rarely have to change the setting.

Seen good bit of them but ya never seen one like that, certainly not in 2014. Anyway just seem like such a easy thing to mount and look more like a finished product is all I was thinking.

Hey everyone - here's my input on the new unit as we received the very first Aurora UV LED unit in the United States.
IT'S AMAZING AND WORTH EVERY PENNY. I waited, hunted, decided to run with Anatol. We added our first Anatol equipment last July and have shown 208.6% growth to date.
To give you some background, we had a old National exposure unit, you know, the really big ugly grey - loud, slow, and energy hog - unit.
Our OLD burn times (1000watt) with KIWO POLYCOL Discharge Emlusion
Mesh Count National Unit Aurora
65-85 13min TBD
110-125 11min 12-15sec
155-230 8min 10-11sec
305 7.5min 10sec (could be lower if needed)
I posted a video of our first 15sec exposure here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LneqdrEiHEU (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LneqdrEiHEU)
On an average day in my shop we shoot between 15-30 screens, it takes my screen guy all day (cleaning and shooting at the same time). Monday he shot 45+ screens before his first break for the day (he comes in around 9 and takes break around 11). It takes longer to print the film than to shoot the screen and much longer to wash the exposure out than shooting... absolutely awesome. If we keep this up, we'll be cutting back the screen room 2 hours per day = 10 hours a week, $5200 direct savings in labor there... IT JUST PAID FOR ITSELF. we're saving on energy costs (it's only 5 amps not much draw at all), and there are others cost savings as well.
IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, ASK. I am here to help - you never know, I may need your help sooner or later too! zachary (at) traxlercustomprinting.com
We will be posting more video's, how to's, etc soon.

I'd like to see a video of that... I kind of actually find that hard to believe. You dont have to post expose for discharge printing? What mesh at 1.5sec? ... Still, the Starlight is more expensive... for 13.5 seconds... I'd rather use Anatol. #redcamp

That's a 156 yellow mesh and yes its true, roll on down to GA if you want to see it. I am sure Anatols version is good too, just different LEDs and configuration. I will try to get a video, and btw, mine has no glass, as it is set up for cts. That does make it faster.
-
The glass is probably where the majority of the exposure difference comes from.
Still, I'm not sure a difference of 12 seconds is going to be a deal breaker for many people.

Zachary: Thanks for the informative post, the YouTube video, and congratulations on the business growth that your company has achieved.

Uh yea Dan I think your opinion on this would be a but objective sorry but thats a fact.
You really do fail to see my point or just ignore it.
I neither fail nor ignore. It just doesn't hold any water as it pertains to Rich.
Rich doesn't need me to defend him. I've read that the more intelligent people are more apr to not say much at all...and if they do, they make it count. I probably will never be grouped into that bunch and I'm ok with that, LOL.
I myself, for my own needs, feel it should be pointed out that (we owners), or me specifically do not drive the direction of this forum. It drives itself by the voice of the people.
Those "derailments" are never initiated by Rich. If it gets derailed, it's because of the group of members directing it that way. If you go back into past post, the evidence is there. Research it yourself. You need only go back a month or so to see a consistent pattern. Rarely (if ever), will you or have you seen him start to comment before we are already talking about an M&R product. He will simply comment, replies and provides facts and maybe even opinions (and don't we all). That's the good thing about this, he's contributing after his Co. Has already been mentioned and let me ask, why can't he reply without being called a hijacker?? He's not the boogie man, he's another good contributor here like you. You have "patterns" as well. We all do. So what if he's the owner. Many owners comment here about their own products. And facts, you mentioned facts. A fact, is something you can prove. It seems to be your "opinion" and not fact, that my opinion is biased because I work for him. The fact is, (I can say that because I am talking about me and can give facts about what I know. The fact is, that I'm responding to what I feel is an injustice. I don't think it's meant to be harmful, just miss directed. The fact is, this is the 2nd time that someone has used his participation as a tool to benefit or support their own stance. I let it go last time (because of this same thing you claim). It's as if I can't comment on something ever, that pertains to Rich or M&R and cannot ever say anything supportive of M&R and have it be lag intimate and honorable. Really? Do you really believe that? I don't think you really do.
This reply is about me and what I see as sort of an injustice. The 2nd injustice is the unknowingly and unintentional attemp to stifle me, keep me quiet on my own forum and prevent me from replying in support of someone. That's how I see that comment about my "factual biased opinion".
I am not the only one that has noticed this trend over the past year or so, so what ever you say to me includes others.
. We will always have people that sees things from a different perspective. That's a good thing.

I love how simple stuff like this thread goes to challenging someones motives and basically their character. Over a LED unit.... Dan is educated, knowledgeable, and is a asset to this board before M&R and IMO even more so now. I don't think Dan's opinions or actions are "bought"... so its sorta ridiculous to me that he can't praise M&R? Laughable.
Folks all LED units are fast. History shown Anatol builds "good" equipment. History has shown that support it poorly. Recent history suggests some improvement is happening in support, I think that is in direct relation to feed back in places like THIS FORUM. So this forum again brings something good to the industry..... If nobody picks at stuff manufactures build it wont improve I assure you.

You know this board makes me F!@#ing sick some times. Dan just posted a whole paragraph completely twisting every single thing i said. He kept implying I was blaming Rich which i never did not once. I clearly said the culture of the board and never pointed anyone out at all. Good Job Dan you accomplished what you wanted.
Brandt I could care less about your opinion on anything, trust me on that.
You all can keep on circle jerking I won't be part of it. I have had enough of this board, see ya

inkman,
I don't think that anyone thought or even now believe that you (intended) to be mean or negative, you were simply mentioning what you thought or believe you saw. I'm stating my side. That's how it works.
Nobody wants to push you away. Infact, we encourage you to say what you believe, but you're going to have to also understand that some may agree and some will disagree.. I know you really know this and are hoping you're just a little upset right now. You have to understand, you did say those things (not horrible things), just stuff worth clearing up, to me) and I responded.
Like you yourself mentioned, threads get derailed, so let me stop here.
I appologize to all for the disruption.
Back on track.

Don't go Mike, really. You're a very good element here, just let it cool a bit, it really got bigger than it should have gotten.

Hell Mike, if you truly split, I'm just glad that you helped me with my rush font search in time yesterday afternoon. ;D
I also know that a little time can heal this. Any forum is going to have a little friction and personality clashes, but you know damn well it never rarely gets out of hand here.

I'm never going to post anything else about Anatol equipment ever, the last few post I made about A@#$% goes star crazy and the equipment gets lost after about 4 post. Frog, Dan or P delete this post there's nothing here to be gained, but getting people upset with each other over opinions, as much as I hate to say this this board reminds me of a past. Very good board and members like it is now here, but it had its evil creep in in the form of opinions and we all know what happen next. So with that said I will not talk about things anymore that get the crowd to going and just stick to art, seps and fonts LOL

Why do you have to be such a troublemaker, Darryl?
-
Lively debate and to some degree controversy are the lifeblood of a successful forum. A forum where everyone agrees and gets along is a dead forum.
You need to hear both sides of any issue to learn anything, and I'm happy we get a little fire and brimstone here once in a while.
-
I didn't think that this particular thread deserves to be deleted, or even locked, but Darryl has a point.
Anatol (and their supporters) has an uphill battle here due to their reputation, which has spread on forums, mostly for lacking service and support after the sale.
We understand that they are making an effort turn that around, but only time will tell. In the meantime, our gang of five or ten Anatol haters, along with a few M&R cheerleaders (some with dual citizenship) will almost always run over any Anatol thread, it is a given at this point.
Folks like Zach Traxler may be surprised, at this, I don't know. I specifically invited him here to boost the Anatol contingent for a little variety. Darryl needed some reinforcements. Patty K is happy with hers, and was supposed to join us, and Donnie Miller is happy but too busy playing on Facebook. The fact is, there are more than a few happy Anatollers out there. They are an innovative company, filling a niche. Hell, their menu display was even ripped off and used on another Polish sausage press! LOL!
Bottom line, let's not get too sidetracked, and try to stay on topic, and save criticism for pertinent points, and not just generally across the board automatically, (so to speak)
btw, I'm stepping out so won't be around to keep this going
-
I purposely delayed posting anything on this thread, I wondered if this thread on the Aurora LED Exposure Unit would suffer a similar fate as the last two Volt threads? Amazingly it did!
I understand this board was established as a "friendly forum" to really help get information straight from the horses mouth and to avoid the "blind leading the blind" found elsewhere. Some people offered have offered great insight and asked insightful questions, some were the same old bashing of a product they know nothing about.
224 chimed in with "it's no Starlight" (which I am glad it isn't it it give shop owners a choice), Was this thread named the M&R Starlight thread? Competition is healthy if done in a professional way.
These Boards have asked for a person who owns the equipment to speak on the boards, so we asked for this to happen, but the gang descended again, perhaps a little gentler than previously. I feel there wasn't a welcome wagon reception either. I counted the post, many spoke nothing about the Aurora LED Exposure Unit, many were completely off topic, bashing I believe it's called or speaking about something that is not relevant.
I will continue to address concerns brought up on this form and answer questions about our product. I ask the participants, competition and the moderators to look at themselves and make sure we are acting in a professional way to Anatol and the customers who express their view.

I am not surprised at the other "camps" input/feedback. I have actually stayed away from forums like this for a few years due to the tone of how people react and post negatively when someone is merely on a forum for support or questions.
I look at it like this:
I have been a Anatol customer for exactly 1 year 1 month and 9 days. I have been extremely happy. I have only had 1 time that technical support did not call back and we resolved the issue in house (the emergency stop button was sticking, causing our press to freeze, simply needed to clean whatever was stuck in it).
I like to find a brand and stick with it. We all drive Toyota and Lexus in my family because we like the quality and support of Toyota (DONT hijack this thread and turn it in to a back and forth about what car or brand is better). We also like the price of a Toyota. We all drive similar vehicles and can interchange accessories like roof racks, winter/summer tires, etc. What does that have to do with equipment? I have had a Workhorse TUF Freedom, its a pile of crap - it's always breaking and a super slow press. Thats just my person opinion. I test drove some M&R presses and for the money and features... I decided Anatol had all I needed. The features are great, reputation of polish engineering, price, and the fact that I interchange almost every accessory should I choose to continue expanding with Anatol is crucial.
I did a lot of research before pouring every penny I had into my first new automatic. Yes - forums really scared me about the customer service reputation within Anatol. But I have seen tremendous growth in the support of their customers.
If I could, I'd have every single piece of equipment in my shop as Anatol. Currently we have 2x RH Manual, MR Manual, WH TUF Freedom, Anatol Horizon, Anatol custom gas dryer, Anatol quartz flashes and caddies for our manuals, WH quartz dryer, Vaztex dryer, and more random stuff. And of course the first Anatol UV LED unit.
Regardless of which brand LED unit you end up with - you'll be happy. But give Anatol a call, check out the unit, compare savings and features... etc. When it came down to it, I already own Anatol equipment, it was more cost effective, and I have already saved $$hundreds$$ in labor.
I am creating a comparison chart I will post later... just so folks can see what the differences are and which they will benefit from most.
-
I have actually heard of some companies paying or giving customers free accessories for actively posting in forums and on social media... *cough* M&R *cough*. I'm just a guy who likes to make high quality shirts and print money.
I like the back and forth, its healthy, to an extent.
-
Darryl, you post away. Don't worry about what the other kids say. ;D Personally, I've never even seen one of their pieces, nor have I heard that it was poorly designed or poorly built. They are out there, so I'm pretty sure they are more than OK. When we bought our MHM, we looked at as many presses as we could, and wanted to talk to Anatol, but they did not return our calls. It's OK, people get busy, I get it, and never really gave it another thought. I guess things like that bug some people more than it should, but I didn't see this going that way, until KaBoom. So anyway Darryl, don't be afraid to post, and for the rest of us, play nice.
Steve
ps. new equipment will start eeking it's way into our shop in the next couple of years, and even though we love the MHM, we will still look at everything to be sure we get the best fit for us.
-

That's a pretty bold thing to say, do you have any proof of this?
FYI, there is a Anatol customer on this forum who openly admits Anatol fixed his machine issues to remain "neutral" on them when posting and in public. What's your thoughts on that?
If we are gonna chuck around things like that let's make sure you know Anatol has played that basic game. It played out right on this forum recently.

Anatol Customer who says we bought his silence, it's not TRUE....Do you proof of that statement? Enough is Enough
-
The problem we have here is we want to be compared to M&R, but not be able to take the heat or questions like Big Blue. Anatol has service problems up the butt, they can't keep employees.
Now you have a guy who is the spokes person this month trying to promote and do damage control, why can't the owner of your company come on here and take a few question?
One thing about 244 he will fight his own battles, yes people will chime in for him, however he is always answering for himself.
How dare you Anatol think you will come on here and take a jab at M&R , and expect that WE users of M&R would sit idle.
I thought it was funny how when a M&R customer was post about his new led unit, what comes next an Anatol post of their led unit.
If you guys are having anything to do with Jason Rodriguez sums up your company!

Does Anatol have all the prison business now?
-
I think some transparency would do Anatol a whole lotta good.
-
... some were the same old bashing of a product they know nothing about......bashing I believe it's called or speaking about something that is not relevant......acting in a professional way to Anatol and the customers who express their view.
I have yet to see in this thread where:
1. Anyone "bashed" Anatol.
2. "Bashing" at all. (Speaking about things that aren't relevant...well, welcome to the internet. Derails are now an insult to a company?)
3. Anyone acting in an unprofessional way to either Anatol or customers who expressed their view.
So can we please get past all the "boo-hoo, someone mentioned M&R in a thread" and move on?
This question:
Wish there would be actually more info about the actual LEDs used in that unit. How many for example would be a good starting point.
was asked waaaaaaay back on page 1. Still doesn't have an accurate answer from either Anatol or an Aurora owner, just conjecture based on a low-res picture.
-
Right, let's get down to brass tax here. IE number of LED's, warranty if any, price delivered, etc.
-
Anatol Customer who says we bought his silence, it's not TRUE....Do you proof of that statement? Enough is Enough
I didn't say you he was bought, I said his repairs were covered (as they should have been from word go) and he was to then remain neutral on Anatol. I take your customers post as serious if it was negative as if it was positive.
You'd like us to believe a customer when they post how happy they are, I believe them. I also believe the ones saying how unhappy they are. This road travels 2 ways sir...

I am ready to make a purchase and as I normally like many of you have last minute second thoughts which lead me to contact Anatol to review their product before confirming my purchase,
Called directly asked for sales got put to a voice mail asking me to leave message...
Are you fricken kidding me... any sales driven call requires a live person response immediately in my company, tha'ts basic salesmanship 101 in my book. I did not leave message.
I go thru the contact me on the website
no reply.. if you make a request info page it needs to be looked after and replied to promptly.
Even though I was going to give up I grabbed a coffee and called back this morning to get the info. I was put thru to a gal who basically read from a line card trying to answer my simple questions. Her reply to comparing the Anatol unit to m&r was the integrated control panel (which I am in favor of) and the price being lower than M&R. When I explained this was not a price driven decision but I wanted real nuts and bolts information and comparison of how the two machines differ she had no firm answer and went back to reading from a line card, repeatedly bring up the price difference. She could tell I was going sour and not getting what I wanted from the conversation, I apologized to her for the comment I was about to make. I told her she was ill prepared to take this call and that her management had let her down by not giving the proper training in sales skills and making sure she is well versed and knowledgeable about the products her company sells, or at least be able to qualify a customer and if needed have the ability to hand them off to another who can answer all the questions in a smart manner.
So Mr Anatol you mayor may not not have issues with your product but you most certainly do with your staff....... lost a potential customer in a matter of 3 minutes only because you did not spend an hour educating the person i just happened to come in contact with at your company. If you truly want to be respected and spoken well of in these threads you need to take a strong look at your company then look at the industry leaders and commit to behaving and surpassing what they do and how they do it... or you can continue on and be a second tier player.

I'd have to think that with the power of the Interwebs, this would not be uncommon. Heck, it appears that more than half of the country makes its political election decisions based on erroneous or deceitful Facebook "shares" and "Retweets". If our political parties harness this energy, wouldn't tech savvy business people?

Great, but you didn't answer my question?
I took 5 minutes out of my day to call Anatol and get the info you all have been asking:
Warranty 2 years covers parts and labor
32 rows of LEDs equivalent of 48 per row = 1536 UV LEDs
21x24 $2250 + crate and freight
23x31 $3776 + crate and freight
31x40 $6795 + crate and freight
As far as your question:
"FYI, there is a Anatol customer on this forum who openly admits Anatol fixed his machine issues to remain "neutral" on them when posting and in public. What's your thoughts on that?"
That's actually a common practice in any industry. For instance, Amazon does this everyday. It's happened to me. As well as eBay, car dealers, etc.
If I was flipping out pissed off at a equipment supplier and they fixed the issue in a timely manner and professionally made that request to me - I would follow it. I don't have the info on that story. So theres my 2 cents.

@ Steve hey thanks there buddy, but no I'm not scare to post (which I know you didn't say) I can post with the big boys and debate equipment that I know about all day long. Here is my problem with this whole thing we all know M&R is the Leader in screen print equipment sells, they are the top dog in service, Rich is the badazz johnny on the spot owner of M&R ready to help his custy nothing wrong at all with that, hell it's good business for him and his company. But now you let another equipment company try to promote here and the F@#$King smurf crew comes out It ain't M&R, they ain't got M&R service and on and on to no end, how many other companies can you name owners come on here and post or try and help there customers NONE!!! why because it is pointless, no one has time to post back and forth with the smurf crew about nonsense. I've ask Mr. Anatol to hit the forum, but it's just not his cup of tea and I don't see anything wrong with that no more than I see anything wrong with what Rich does he's HIPP that's his swagg. My reason for ending this post is no good info about the Aurora LED has been talked about well maybe a few post nothing to really see what the unit is all about, I know nothing about LED's except what I read from any company that makes one, never know when my old unit bites the dust and I have to buy one and what color it is won't matter to me, I'm trying to save money and make money when it comes right down to it. All you guys know me by now, if you know me at all, I'm laid back and try to engage with help if I think I know what I'm talking about, but when enough is enough that's it and I will tell you you can kiss my azz today and talk with you the next or you can tell me to go to hell and I'll do you the same and go about my merry way. Now where is the MHM owners, RPM owners, Roque owners, Workhorse owners,Lawson owners, Riley Hopkins owners, Tas owners and there so many more that don't post here because it's just not there style or cup of tea.

I just called Anatol and they said press 1 for customer support and then it connected me to M&R. LOL

I think debating equipment is great, I don't agree with Ink's opinion of Rich commenting on this thread but you know what, that's OK. I personally don't have anything against someone saying their equipment is better in a thread simply because the title of the thread is not about their product, but I respect those of you who do think it's rude. It's always bothered me that we can't have a man's discussion with a little heat behind it because someone is afraid some feelings will get hurt. "Everyone gets a ribbon" mentality is not the real world. I feel like Don Corleone when he says "YOU CAN ACT LIKE A MAN" when these threads turn into this. And I'm sure there are many of you who will disagree with my opinion on this matter and guess what, I'll probably still respect you in the morning if you speak to me like a man and not a child or in a condescending way. Accountability is something I care about and I don't want to get into specifics but just because the right things have been said the last month or so, that doesn't mean crap to me and what's being done is what matters.
YOU ARE WHO YOU ARE, YOU ARE WHAT YOU DO (the way you live your life) and if you don't like what people say about you, then you might want to stop complaining and do things that make people think positively about you. And you shouldn't expect reputations to change in a few weeks or months. I hope everyone is doing things the right way and not simply saying they are, sooner or later we'll find out. And sometimes the truth hurts, but it doesn't mean it shouldn't be talked about.

Warranty 2 years covers parts and labor
32 rows of LEDs equivalent of 48 per row = 1536 UV LEDs
21x24 $2250 + crate and freight
23x31 $3776 + crate and freight
31x40 $6795 + crate and freight
At $700 more for the M&R unit I'd lean that way. I thought there would be a more significant difference, like the $3k one
between a medium and large size unit.
Does the Anatol come with a stand?

I have 4 pieces of equipment that has not given me any problems.
1) BBC flash dryer thats keeps going 5 years strong
2) Lawson Conveyor dryer that just keeps going (oops 1 problem - belt motor brushes wore out)
3) Geo Knight heat press
4) Ingersol Rand air compressor that is overworked
Everything else has issues

I'm sitting here chuckling at the e-drama going on in this thread. I really don't understand people getting butthurt about others voicing their opinions, biases, etc. If only all this energy was being spent on information instead of arguing!
I will say I think it would be better for spokespeople from competing companies to stay out of threads about other companies unless to address specific factual information about their equipment if it is brought up by end users. It really isn't a big deal and there isn't a clear line to be crossed usually, but it tends to fuel the drama fire in threads like this and often comes across as promotional rather than informative. I have seen quite a few posts from reps that cross this "line" (in my opinion) in threads and most of the time I end up ignoring those posts as they don't really add to the discussion. I also think it isnt necessary, as people who like a brand tend to do plenty of cheerleading on their own without the input of vendors. I know I certainly have brands I feel strongly about...

My ANCIENT geoknight heat press is a champ. Same with my ANCIENT National conveyor dryer.

Just a FYI our small one (23X31) is $4195 and our large one (31X40) is $7495.

Look like we might be getting back on track here, since I started the thread I'll ask this, Rich without asking about price, what makes your unit much better than or the go to choice for LED units, I ask the same question to A@#$L without either of you giving out any trade secret or patent stuff. Lets base this on the same machine size 31x40 all I won't to know is apple to apple on the units, lets forget about company reputations. I'm asking these two companies in a man up debate not anyone else's opinion what you think just these guys or any other company that would like to toss there machine of the same size in here. I don't claim to know anything about LED I think they are really going to be a game changer no matter who makes them and who you buy from and I don't care who's best but just a level playing field so whoever wants one has a choice.

I own the Starlight, and one thing for sure that's better is the warranty, LIFE TIME warranty on the LEDs, not 2 years.
-
Again, service wins!
-
I got an email from Anatol promoting this unit, I replied and asked if it had a lifetime warranty and they did not respond.
-
Threads like this are great IMO, some people can't handle them and that's OK too. I know this, as Anatol keeps taking it on the chin they will maybe wake up to how they are viewed in the market and react improve it, thus creating more competition. We all win when that happens. M&R will then respond with a better product and so on.
If you are mad at that then wowz.
-
Must be the service, do you guys have any recent service complaints on recent items from Anatol? I ask because it's always the same people with the same complaints. I don't visit the site much as of late because it just seems too blue. I think when people are discussing new products and the competition M&R keeps jumping in to slam the other product, the board is nothing more than a big M&R commercial and if I wanted that I would go to their site.

Darryl there are some things I can't say but I can say the LED we use is exclusive to M&R and as such no one will have access to it. By looking at the photo I can see we use better electronics as our touch screen is easier to use and not a membrane switch design that is only available from the manufacturer. Our vacuum system and pump are much better quality as well as way quiter than what was on the video. Our machine is already wired and prepared for customers to switch the unit to CTS exposures. I will also bet our resale value will be way higher when the time comes. All said better LEDS, components, adaptability, resale, warranty for life on LED, money back guarantee, and service when you need it. The rest I don't want to reveal.
-
I am thinking that blue paint must cost a ton that's why the big price difference " bahahah
yea that's the reason. Nothing to do with the fact we have about 30 percent more higher quality LED'S.
-
So let's say an LED bulb went out, does the lifetime warranty replace that one single bulb or will a strip need replacing or the whole thing need to be done? I have only seen the Vastex up close but not that close that I could tell if a single bulb could be replaced or if all the strips were attached in a way that you could replace them.

thirty percent more higher quality! You don't say. How is that figured? What makes one diode more higher quality then the next just curious what you are basing that on. Is it just output wavelength stability q point Thermo stability.

I have never used or even seen the Starlight Exposure Unit. I am not bold enough to judge by a picture or video only without first hand knowedge. I can only speak of the features and value of the Aurora UV LED Exposure Unit.
Price and features make it the best value on the Market!
The features of the Anatol UV LED Aurora Exposure Unit!
9.5 (3/8') thick optical plate glass, not plastic to avoid scratching.
LED timer with digital readout
Heavy Duty fully enclosed all steel cabinet
Two year warranty covering parts and labor on the entire unit. LED lights have a life of over 50,000 hours(why have a lifetime warranty for something that last that long?) Sounds like Marketing to me or a way to charge more?
Program up to four different profiles for fast and easy setting recall
Removable covers provide easy access to components for fast cleaning
More LED UV lights than any other LED Unit on the Market for the best light and uniformed distribution
Separate delay and exposure time adjustments
AEU2124 8 x 37 x 25 21 x24 Screen Capacity Price $2,250 plus crate and freight Free Stand
AEU2331 8 x 39 x 30 23 x 31 Screen Capacity Price $3,776 plus crate and freight Free Stand

Is Jason Rodriguez selling Anatol equipment?
Jason is not employed by Anatol or is not a dealer of Anatol. What does this have to do with the Aurora LED Exposure Unit?
-
Rich, going off my limited knowledge, I would assume your LEDs have a narrower "beam width" (can't think of the term) if they are properly spaced to reduce undercut more does not always equal better, what do you feel the advantage that is gained by having more points of light?

I do have a question about your 50,000 hr LED. Things still go bad, electronics are not perfect. If a LED goes out after the 2 year period will you replace free of charge. Please don't spin it, just a yes or no and explain why if no.

Yes we will replace the LED bulbs.....understand the bulbs are not a significant cost. The trick I understand is that our competitor charges labor to change the bulbs.
So the cost of labor far out weighs the cost of the of a bulb. So is the bulb from of competitor really free? Our they charging you labor to replace the bulb?

Who's Rebel Screen Suppy, just curious.
No reason for everybody to get all Fat Bobby here.
IMO which really doesn't matter Rich simply saw an opportunity to promote his product, he did not bash anyone just simply stated why he thought his was better, nothing wrong with that. It took Anatol 6 pages and a bunch of ribbing to say why they feel theirs is a better value. Anatol should have stepped up and simply stated the facts and answered questions at least on page two. Nothing wrong with a little conversation.
Daryl was simply pointing out Anatol had a LED unit. So does Vastex, Lawson and several other companies. This is where Anatol should have stepped in and said hey guys here is what we have ask your questions. If nothing else a little free self promotion. Everyone is "beating up" Anatol for not coming on here but if they were more active, simply answered the questions and stated the facts instead of dancing around the topic no one could get on there case, you can't argue the cold hard facts.
It is no secret Anatol lacks service and support and from what I have heard they are at least making an effort. Out of the owners I know unfortunately a large portion of them are not satisfied not because the machine is bad but with the support they get. Some of them have problems from day simply due to poor installs. I honestly think it's a Eastern European state of mind to get the machines on the floor and worry about how they will support them later. IMO most of the happy customers are in CA where OTS services them and provides the necessary support.
On another note how can Anatol and M&R claim they both have the most LED lights in the industry, someone has to have the most. It's not necessarily how many LED's it's the lay out and focus of those bulbs that counts.
As far as the warranty yes 50k hrs (I think 10k is more realistic) is a lot but things do break so like asked before will Anatol provide parts, labor, travel, expenses to fix the problem in the first two years at no charge. I can't speak for M&R but would assume they would ship you an new light bar to be installed by the end user.
-
Thank you Rich and thank you Anatolhelp you both answered my question and both companies in my eyes have nice exposure units, my original post was to help promote my topic's unit but as it turned out both companies got promoted and that's fine with me, for the rest of you yall can bitch like gals to you get your fill I'm done.

Rebel screen supply is Jason Rodriguez I'm pretty sure. And if I understand correct, he is going by Jason Wiley now. But I'd like it if someone could verify my information. I'm about 97% sure though.

Yes, I'd like to know this as well.
Will either of you replace bulbs, parts and labor, for the life of the unit?
If not is it a user serviceable part that you sell to the end user?

I'm going to respectfully disagree. The thread started out with the introduction of the Aurora which looks strikingly similar to the Starlight. It's only natural that we, as consumers, compare and contrast the details, features, and cost of each.
I assure you this unit does not compare to the Starlight and our exclusive LED's. Make sure you get a money back guarantee if you buy it as well as a lifetime replacement on all the LED's even if one fails! Price isn't everything as a lot of people have found out.
That's the reply he makes. Absolutely no mention of why the Starlight is better. Only what I, and obviously some others, interpret as a huffy-puffy, "Don't mention the Starlight in the same sentence as this garbage", type reply. IN MY OPINION, that's not the way he should have replied, if he even needed to reply at all?? No one was bashing the Starlight. ALL I stated was my opinion of the functionality and my assumed take on pricing...more about that below.
It's like a push and pull with both/all manufacturers. You show me yours first THEN I'll show you mine type attitude. MSRP was first posted for the Aurora on page 6, then Rich posts the MSRP of the Starlight on page 7. If Rich and Anatol want to keep the internet discussions ACCURATE, then post the damn MSRP's so we can at least not throw around arbitrary numbers or, "I heard from billy joe whatshisnuts that it's 12k cheaper with X". It's 2014 here folks, put your MSRP on your websites! Ford and Chevy post their MSRP's, and their dealer networks are cheaper than those prices, but it's a starting point of reference for comparison.
Lord help Joe Printer when he googles around and finds this thread then tries to filter through all this nonsense for opinions/features/cost on the Aurora or Starlight exposure units. Let me help out Joe Printer with the most common exposure unit for 23x31 frames:
Anatol Aurora:
Cost:
23x31 $3776 + crate and freight (comes with a stand)
Feaures:
4 programmable presets
Vacuum draw down sensor which activates exposure timer when correct vacuum level is reached. Proprietary membrane panel control.
120V 7amp rated.
Warranty:
Anatol support line hours?
Two years parts and labor
(implied LED warranty beyond 2 years by Anatolhelp)
Performance:
Initial video review suggests exposure timing ranges 12-30 seconds with pure photopolymer emulsion.
M&R Starlight:
Cost: (23X31) is $4195 + crate and freight (stand available but not included)
Features:
Exposure timer up/down function, no presets. Vacuum switch is manual, when vacuum is visually reached, hit the start button to start exposure timer. Non-proprietary hardware.
110V 9.5amp rated
Warranty:
24 hour support
One year limited warranty
Lifetime warranty on the LED's
Performance:
Multiple reviews concur exposure timing ranges from 1.5-30 seconds with pure photopolymer emulsion.
Conclusion???(My opinion!)
The Starlight uses superior faster LED's (proven by users and exposure times posted). LED's are the meat and potatoes of these things, bottom line. Anatol definitely has a leg up on functionality. Who wants to stand there and wait for vacuum to draw down before manually hitting the exposure button. Yes, I know the next model up Starlight has better features, but why should the lower model uses suffer speed/ease of use with the same fast LED's? Cost difference in my opinion is insignificant at this exposure unit size.
Until someone shows that the Aurura's LED's are capable of the same exposure times as the Starlight, I give the Starlight the win.

Amen!!!!!
Everyone compares car models and says one brand is the BMW or whatever of the screen printing world... well, guess what those people put their numbers out there. They aren't scared that someone will flinch at their price and look away. They know they have a car that people desire to have regardless if they are more expensive than the other "average" car.
Man up, put the numbers out there... this industry kills me with this type of hush hush stuff!

We've come a long way from minutes of exposure time to led exposure units capable of 10-15 seconds exposures.. (My opinion) The ability to have the vacuum delay feature appeals to me and the procedure feels more streamlined when exposing. Not because we can expose in seconds mean we want to stand there all hands on deck all the time, we may want to walk away for some reason. So Aurora has the leg up for that ability.. Rich claimed this lack of ability as the traditional mindset.. Walking away is not traditional..
-
great info surprising that the starlight won it for you based on their LEDs when you note they are proprietary they have no long term track record. Great side by side. Do you feel more LEDs in a unit is a plus or minus to its engineering?
I'm not an engineer but here's my take on it. With this specific design MORE LED's won't help expose faster. The distance between each LED and their respective beam angle creates a maximum saturation point given X-distance from the substrate while not overlapping much. The only way you can make this design work better, without re-engineering the strip and led spacing, is by finding better quality LED's that have a stronger light output.
I'd bet M&R did a lot of sample testing from LED suppliers to find the strongest quality LED to use in their unit. When everything is made in China without part numbers or concrete specifications, you have to pay to get the quality reliable strips. Add on top of that UL listing and you're talking a 3rd party LED supplier that has another middle-man mark-up.
If Traxler wants to post some close-up pics of his LED strips, maybe we can figure out some specifications on them 8)

I gotta tell ya, I almost fell out of my chair when DirkDiggler called me and said he is exposing ppp emulsions in 1.5 seconds. I mean, WOW. That's pretty awesome indeed!~!!!!!
-
I have actually heard of some companies paying or giving customers free accessories for actively posting in forums and on social media... *cough* M&R *cough*. I'm just a guy who likes to make high quality shirts and print money.
You sir are a douche bag.
Have you asked Christine at anatol about this? Please do. Better question, it's been 2 months, does she still work there?
I am out of town, but you better believe when I get home I will email her with a link to this thread and ask for a reply. I will also post the bill that anatol sent me, if you are able to please publicly let me know which way I paid for it that would be great, I have seem to have forgot....
I was going to stay out of this, I have said and done my complaining. But it reads to me like you are saying I'm lying. Outspoken, smart-ass, and extreme, ya I'll cop to those but a liar, I am not.
-
Would be great though if the guys at Anatol would post some exposure times for all sorts of emulsions on this forum so that we all get a better understanding on how fast the unit really is. I`m not so much interested in SBQ emulsions but rather dual cure coated 2/2 for example. That`s the least I can expect from a vendor, right?
-
Yes they should, I think a free unit give away would be cool too

In efforts to not draw this drama out any further I am simply going to attach the invoice in question. I apologize Darryl for taking this a direction you did not intend, but I felt quite insulted when it was implied I was not being truthful.
I would of posted sooner, but as I returned from out of town I was informed we lost nearly a full day of production due to a dryer that suddenly stopped working. I'll go ahead and not mention any brand names here ::) I have been getting it back up and running and trying to make up for lost production time....

Where is the document that states that this is for your silence. As you claim?
Just so you know Christine has been employed here for 18 continuous year.
We will not discuss individual customer concerns on this or any public forum.
If you have any issues or concerns with your equipment please direct them to my attention.

I think is his point is that he never had to actually pay that invoice....

I was gonna say it but ya know.

Ummm at what point is it "just making people aware" or bashing? I think every single Anatol post ends like this in some fashion. I for one can say I totally understand the history with this one. GOT IT ????
-
Sweets you are correct...every post does end up this way. We are asked to go on this board to answer questions about our products, service and the company. I am beginning to believe answering serious questions is never going to happen .
-
I understand the basis of a policy of not publicly discussing private customer concerns, but when it's all out there anyways and you say you won't discuss or explain, it leaves a mighty big mozza ball hanging out here where the search engines will pick it up. I think openness and transparency are better polices than refusing to comment and pm'ing threat of legal action for others discussing it.

Besides price what makes the Anatol led unit a superior product?
BTW, I emailed Anatol for information about this product over a week ago and its warranty and never got a response.
-
I'm gonna jump in really quick on this one...
I personally really like and impressed by 2 features of the anatol unit -- that I wish my M&R had -- and that I think are cooler than the other similar targeted units.
1. The vacuum sensor... --- not a timer, it doesn't start exposing until it's drawn enough vacuum... to me, this means that even if you get a hole in your blanket and it starts taking a bit longer to draw down, you don't have to adjust anything.
2. The '4' preset buttons... --- I have optimized time settings for my 3 most commonly used meshes and coating levels.
-- I know that most higher end units have this function, but the lower cost units typically don't have them.
-
the amergraphs(non-led) have a sensor plus a timer, so you can set it to kick on x seconds after if reaches vacuum. Kinda neat, I have it set to 0

Please let me know who and where you sent the email. I will not have my sales staff not following up on information request. I am sorry this happened. We have a 2 year Parts and labor warranty on the LED unit. And as promised on this forum we will replace the LED bulbs for the life of the unit.

thats just parts replacement, correct? Shipping not included?
Is a tech visit necessary to replace bulbs or is it a user replaceable item?

Thanks for the heads up on where the email went. Parts and LABOR are included in the two year warranty. Our equipment is built to work on yourself in your shop. Unlike other manufactures Anatol includes 2 years parts and labor on most of the equipment we sell. Unlike other manufactures who only offer a warranty on parts, and will void your warranty if you work on your equipment. It all depends on your mechanical ability, but for a LED Bulb I recommend that you use a Anatol Tech. Please remember that the life of the LED bulbs is 50k hours. So the chance that a LED Bulb failing is very small. Unfortunately shipping isn't included.

Sweetts and everyone else, I apologize for dragging the drama on. But when it was implied I was not being truthful, that set me off. Lying may be on page 3 of the anatol employee handbook under "how to handle customers" but I take it seriously.
I will bow out of this at this point to not create more of a soap opera. If anyone at any point in time would like copies of ridiculous emails and recorded phone calls(yes it got that bad) of how anatol as a company handles customers please PM me and I would be happy to share them.
Terry, when you guys want to know why I am so pissed off in the future, this here sir is the reason.
Good Luck.

I hear you, but really who am I to tell you what to post or not; if I felt I was shafted I would do the same.

5. Repairs by non-M&R technicians—or by technicians not currently certified and authorized by M&R—will void all or part of this Warranty should M&R subsequently identify damage caused by improper repair procedures and/or by non-M&R-certified parts.
6. Replacement electrical or electronic parts provided by M&R under terms of this Warranty must be installed by an M&R technician—or a technician currently certified and authorized by M&R—to be covered for the remainder of this Warranty.

Nice try but not as read. If an M&R tech tells someone to do something that does not void any warranty. You are authorized if we tell you to do it. Hire an independent that doesn't know what they are doing like you have to with companies that "don't have techs" and yes that would not be covered Luckily we have way over 50 M&R employee's that are field tech,s as well as at least 5 that man the phones daily.

Not sure I read line number 6 that way....but I respect your comments.

So why are 30% more LEDs better?? I think I missed it below
-
probably for more lumens and a more even light spread. more lumens means a faster exposure.
-

More uniform light and faster cures. Not going any further with information our competition may use. Ask any user how good it is and you will know quickly!
-
Yeah wouldn't want that info getting out lol.
-
EZ Film 30 155 mesh 16 seconds
someone asked for theses times.
-
Any updates regarding exposure times for different emulsions with this Anatol unit?
Have to make a decision soon what LED exposure unit to get.
Top of the list would be the Starlight but I`m afraid we are out a few bucks for this one especially with shipping over the big ocean.
So it looks like Vastex and Anatol will have to slug it out.
-
I doubt you could go wrong with either unit. The difference in exposure times most likely comes down to seconds.
-
I'd be interested to here some results for Aquasol HV-P would be cool as well as any other comparable emulsions.
-
Anyone ever bought one of these things?
They called me and mentioned some updates to it and I looked at the brochure... Looks nice.
They said it had more LEDs than the starlight.
-
I have one. I think I got one of the last ones before they updated it with a touchscreen, air filter and cooling (I don't see any cooling or dust buildup problems under the glass anyway).
Ulano QX-5 Blue coated 1/1 round edge on 195mesh is 30 seconds. Using stoufer gauge with a full 7 reading.
Every now and then it takes longer to achieve the pre-exposure vacuum. I'm using shurloc frames so I'm not sure if it's that or not. They said to adjust the hinges but I still get it sometimes. I can do 30 without an issue then 3 in a row I'll need to reposition on the glass or relatch it.
The auto-vacuum sensing is pretty nice outside of that. Overall happy with it.
-
I finished reading the whole post, that was funny.
I will get an Aurora 3346 in a few days, so I hope that I made a good choice !
-
Ok, I cancelled my order, and just sign today for the M&R...
I found communication not that easy (I am in Europe/France) and they quote me an insane shipping price, enough to send from Poland to USA by air...
I did't had clear answers about LED failure (if it happens in the future), and what would happens to replace them...
That is disgusting.
