This Free Photoshop T-Shirt template is set up so you can easily change the t-shirt color, graphic and brightness and contrast all while the displace filter wraps your graphic around the folds of the t-shirt.
Here is the link to our goodies page where you'll find the template right at the top: http://bit.ly/1eAj1mG (http://bit.ly/1eAj1mG)

you should take advantage of our Industry Announcements/Press release section and announce the upcoming training. The webinar later this month looked like something members here would benefit from!

Nice template indeed. I love displacement maps, a great way to make a wavy flag from a flat graphic and lots of other applications. Thanks, and welcome to the board.

Thank you Steve! There is another way to do this with a 3D map in Photoshop. Ill make a tutorial for that at some point and post it here.

Nice!

Cool thanks guys. Btw if you have any requests for libraries, templates, brushes etc let me know and ill add it to my list.

Since youre offering, foils/glitters/shimmers are a pain to mockup well and I havent ever come across a quality pack with those "textures". I would be all over something like that.
-
That didn't take long... 8 mins till the reply.
Mimosa, did you have that on the clipboard ready to paste? ;)
-
Haha yeah that was fast you must really need those glitters and shimmers man :) I added it to my list thanks.

Are there any other garment templates in the making, such as l/s, hoodies polos etc?

Yes i do have hoodies, polo's, v-necks, tank top, kids and womens t's on my list. Probably in the next few weeks ill have a couple others up.

Haha, literally JUST got done mocking one up using gradients in PS, took a while to get it to really look right, and it isn't really repeatable quickly. Would love to just be able to toss some textures on a design instead. I've ALMOST gotten out the strobe flashes and actual foil and my nice camera and gone to town, but I really just don't have the time with the new baby etc.
-
Back of the shirt as well. :)
-
If you want to get fancy and use illy and photoshop, I use a smart layer for the art portion on the mock-up. This allows you to place the art (from illy) in at full size. If the customer changes their art, I update the illy file and the mock-up changes as well.

I can dig it!

I really dig this page a lot. Maybe they have something you like. Not free but the fees are so low it`s almost free.

Might want to check out this pack for glitters etc. http://www.mypracticalskills.com/store/vector-fabric-swatches-fashion-embellishments/ (http://www.mypracticalskills.com/store/vector-fabric-swatches-fashion-embellishments/)

Good point about using illy placed files as smart objects. I did use a Smart object for the graphic part in the template but since some people might not have Illy I created a regular smart object and pasted in the vector shapes.

Is it just me? I went to create an account on the FashionClassroom site and each package option says "coming soon".
-
It is not only you :(
-
Sorry guys we are finishing up testing and should be done in the next couple of weeks.
If anyone wants the t-shirt template in the meantime please email me at jason@fashionclassroom.com and ill send you a link.

Ok... I never got around to playing with this till just now.
What is the proper way to replace the graphic in this template?
-
Hi Gilligan,
To swap out a graphic just double click on the "thumbnail" for the layer that says Change Graphic Here (it is the 2nd layer from the top).
This will open the Smart Object where you can remove the current graphic and paste in your graphic.
You'll then save that Smart Object file and then close it and when you get back to the T-Shirt Template itll swap out the old graphic for yours automatically.
Any problems let me know.

Thanks.
After I do that it ask about the displacement map/file.
I've left the defaults and then picked the template file as the displacement file and it wasn't pretty.
-
Ok, I saved a copy of the PSD with the graphic layer turned off and used that as the displacement map file and it seems to be working.
Just have to open that file up and move the graphic inside that sub file if you want to move it on the tshirt and then reapply the displacement file again.
-
I just tried myself and it doesnt ask me for the displace again. Though I have seen that happen before.
Here is a link of the displacement map i used: https://www.dropbox.com/s/czovd8ntu8mi7lx/displace2.psd?dl=0 (https://www.dropbox.com/s/czovd8ntu8mi7lx/displace2.psd?dl=0)
Basically I darkened the shirt so mid grey was the main color and then blurred it slightly to soften the transition of the displace map.
I hope this helps.
-
Is it also the case for you that you have to move the file around inside the embedded sub file to have it move within the displacement file properly or are you able to move the file around inside the main file and it follow the displacement map?
-
Right if you want to move the graphic around you have to double click on the smart object and move it around in side of the smart object file. Then save and close the smart object file.
