I am wondering because the person that does my seo sent this to me. I feel like he changed something so i get to spend more $$ with them.
I am about to go tell this guy to eff off.
I've been with a few people for seo so far and everyone has let me down.

SEO isn't worth the money imo. Just do it yourself, dedicate a weekend and you would be good.
-
yea but i am clueless.

From what little I understand, you have to build a site that is mobile friendly....Otherwise some of your page will not be viewable on a smart phone......For example if building a site in Joomla it needs to be "responsive" so it adjust to whatever platform it is being viewed on....

I disagree. But finding someone trustworthy to SEO is tricky. We found someone, and we get 5-7 calls a day from new clients that found us by googling "Houston Screen Printing". In a major city there are HUNDREDS of print shops, and within 2 weeks with his help we went from our facebook page being listed on the 3rd page of listings, and our website on the 7th, to being the second listing under that catagory.
We've landed some local work for companies like Lululemon and Verizon because of it.
Also using someone that knows what they are doing in this field, is incredibly helpful, and at least for us, saved us TONS of time in research and messing up our professionally built site.

True but they also dont do anything that you could not do yourself. It took me a couple days to get everything setup on our website, keywords, putting your info in as many free listing websites as you can and we are on the first page and it was free, just spent a weekend doing it.

Local SEO is the way to go IMO... trying to duke it out on general search quires is impossible.. if you are not in the top 5 forget it.

Oh yeah I just focused on local seo. I think it was easy as pie to get on the first page locally.

SEO is well worth the money. Problem is the guys that can do the work right cost more than many of us make. Look up the basics of SEO most of us just need the basics to rank high enough to make money.
One word of advice is if your contacted by an SEO guy he is not the on you want to use. Do your research. SEO can cost anywhere from $1000 to $5000 for the first set up then a monthly of $500 to $1500. I have even heard of good SEO guys getting a percentage of the profits.

I had one customer a while ago that told me his SEO guy is the best. I asked him why? He said he was able to get his website to rank number one. I asked what for. He said for the name of his company. I laughed to myself and then asked him what else has he done. The guy said he get alot more hits now. I then asked have you gotten more work? The guys said he thinks so. I stopped asking at that point.
Another thing I want to say about SEO. SEO only gets people to your site. If your site does not sell people, your prices are too high/low, you can't do a good print job etc... your waiting your money SEO.
-
The very frustrating thing about paying for SEO is there isn't really a good metric to gauge what leads are due to your SEO guy vs. leads you would have got based on your content... You can look at clicks/ links going to your website on google analytics all day, but you can't tell if they were generated from their work you are paying them for, or just because the content you provided on your page google found unique. I do have to agree with what was stated above though; build on platform you are comfortable with updating and making changes too, because it will be really rare to find a contracted SEO guy who work on your site as hard as you would your own.

I do all of my own SEO and would be happy to take a look at your site and make suggestions. I have been doing my own SEO since I built my first site in 1996. It's a hobby that I never get paid for :-)

Now if you search for SEO and looks for tips and tricks from Google directly you will find some advise.
For example that google will start ranking pages that have and SSL certificate higher. Starting now.
Their next advise is to make a user friendly page that has lot of information the customer needs, info graphics etc. Now I have loomed at many screen print shop pages in the States over the years and I have to say most of them lack info. Most people have no clue what is involved in the process of printing a shirt. All this should be explained on the site. I would break down the whole order process etc. Make sure you have a site index too. And the page has to load fast.
Forget about back linking.
The only reason why we get an SEO guy is to go over on site SEO, such s meta tags, keywords and page titles.
All the rest is poo poo. Oh and do sone social media stuff on a regular bases.
We are redoing our page right now, all responsive design, adjusts itself to desktop screen size, mobile devices etc. No need for a separate mobile side in that case. My friend is a great web designer, I`m more then happy to forward his details to anyone here.
