I haven't printed it in a while but would a 40 mesh work for glitter ink?
What can you do to keep some of the glitter from flaking off after printing it aside from heat pressing it? Also, does anyone know of a good deep red glitter ink manufacturer?
I appreciate any suggestions/advice in advance.

Meadowbrook Innovations has several red glitter flakes. We mix our own with Wilflex Nova base. You can get different flake sizes for different results. Typically we used a 24 mesh or 40 mesh depending on the flake size. If cured properly, there should be very little if any that "flake off".

That's the way we do it also. Usually a 26 mesh (can I say Shur-Loc?) Also, make sure you have a decent EOM, otherwise the mesh tends to act like a sieve.
Or like Tony said, try dry flakes for a lot of fun!!

Years ago we used a 25 mesh, but most recently, maybe 5 years ago or so, we used a 36 mesh. The point is, you need a really coarse mesh, and a good hi-solids emulsion, multiple coats dried in between as the mesh is so coarse you need to guard against it dripping...

For WB glitter a 40 or 60 usually works best for us. Great hand and superior reflection.

I occasionally print a crystallina overlay using a 40mesh, and it works nicely!
However, I have a difficult time getting my 65-line halftones to resolve, any tips??

Lol
Thanks for the tips. I'll have to try that base and adding the flakes.
